Lets say they fought on Saturday night with Hrgovic fighting instead of Zhang. Who would win? Also whod win going forward?
I will lean towards Filip here. I believe he’s hitting harder now than he was in WSB and his skills have improved.
It isn't because of the outcomes of the two Zhang fights, but Hrgovic is faster and more explosive, so maybe a close, but deserved decision for him.
I think Joyce has the work rate to outpoint Hrgovic. Hrgovic doesn't hit as hard as Zhang. Interesting fight though.
Hrgovic isn't a southpaw and doesn't hit as hard as Zhang. Hrgovic is also at his most effective when he's the one dictating the pace and forcing his opponent to the ropes but against Joyce he'll be forced to back up and in the end he'll just be swallowed up by the sheer volume of punches. He's also pretty damn easy to hit if he can't control range as he has very little head movement. I see Joyce's jab not being able to miss, Joyce stops him late.
Its 50/50. Hrgovic doesnt hit as hard as Zhang but he moves more and is quicker, he stings more than parker. But Joyces workrate will be a big factor.
Funny you say this, while entire "elite" ducks eachother - Hrgovic, Joyce and Zhang always looking for fights.
He does have quicker hands but his attacks are not exactly sneaky, it's all about the right hand. His movement is OK, he's no Uysk or Fury and he'll be backing up and forced to the ropes. He's also not much of a counter puncher unlike Zhang, he won't walk Joyce into counters like Zhang, he tends to need to get off first, which is harder to do when you are being constantly backed up. But it's not an easy fight for Joyce, especially if he marks up like he did vs Zhang. I could see Hrgovic shutting an eye by landing repeated right hands.
