Davis will have a decent win against a contender. Should put him into position to challenge for a title.

If Garcia says no, no fight gets made and everyone says he’s scared. Either way, it’s an unnecessary move and taints a Tank win just a bit. Especially when you consider all the other factors of his career.

Calm down, I’m speaking generally. There would be many who would say he was scared if he didn’t sign on with the clause.

The way you posted was directed at me, not generally speaking. You should fix that.

So if the rehydration clause is BS and Garcia is compromised wouldn't that taint the victory?

Why would it taint the victory? Garcia agreed to it, he's in phenomenal condition the best I've ever seen him, so why would he be compromised to begin with? He has campaigned his entire career as a LW and now because he fought Fortuna at 140 people want to forget he was a lightweight his damn entire career. If Garcia felt "Compromised" at 136 pounds he wouldn't have taken the fight.

Nope not gonna fly. Plenty of fighters have taken fights when compromised because they don't wanna miss out on the pay day it's not as simple as take it or leave it. Got nothing to do with him fighting at 140 before. Whether the fight is at 135 or 136 he should be able to weigh what he wants on fight night. If weight bullying doesn't exist than neither should rehydration clauses.

How did I know you weren't going to be "shooting" tattoos!? Lol.. Ryan is not in it for the payday tho, lol, he's in it to win it and like I said before if he felt 136 was going to compromise him in the ring he wouldn't have taken the fight. Stop quoting me and get prepped for your next "tattoo" Picasso. Lol.

I'm not a fan of either fighter so as a neutral I think that personally the win would come with a question mark over it. Maybe the weight effects Garcia, maybe it doesn't but I don't think you can give a fighter credit for draining them down in weight, add a rehydration clause on top of that as well to ensure they can hydrate back up to their natural weight and so they are even more compromised, I can't see how you can say that would be the same as beating Garcia at his best.

Roy Jones Jr probably thought going from heavyweight back to light heavyweight wouldn't compromise him, Oscar thought going back to 147lbs wouldn't compromise him vs Pac or felt even if compromised had enough of a size advantage to negate any drop in performance caused by the weight loss.

Reality is until a fighter does it they don't have a clue how dropping the weight will effect them. I suspect getting down to the weight won't be an issue but the rehydration clause adds an extra factor that could very likely compromise some aspect of his performance which is why they demanded it.

Yeah but Jones cut around 25 pounds or so, Ryan is only being asked to cut 4 pounds which he agreed to. He's 24 years old and hasn't even reached his prime yet, the fighters you mentioned were in their mid 30's already, cutting down at those ages are always tougher to do and you risk being drained which were the cases in those particular fights. Roy struggled, and DLH couldn't pull the trigger, I doubt we see anything like that with Ryan Garcia.
