Zhang aimed Joyce's right eye. The only way to stop the Briton.

Too many guys in and around boxing that dont actually know enough about boxing. Cant make the correct decision through emotional attachments.

Heard excuses from everyone but joyce himself.

Joyce fought how he always fights...he just came up against a guy that was bigger and stronger than him for once that was a good counter puncher. The correct decision is getting him a good fight against a good opponent not named zhang. Joyce was ineffective on saturday. It wasnt really competetive.

Time to go a different route for now and review it a couple of fights down the line. Joe doesnt have time to spare....every fight does need to matter....but zhang looks like he,ll pretty much finish the career in the next fight if they go for it.

Its time to find out if joyce is at that level elsewhere first....before putting him in with what looked like his kryptonite again.

 

How bad is Joyce if there’s only one way to stop him and he did nothing to take that one thing away and just kept straight-line fighting running smack into that left hand?

Maybe move his head? Bend his knees? Keep his gloves up? Anything.

 

Some of you guys treat these grizzled man mammoths like babies.

 

A prime Joshua and Wilder both stop Joyce, he was hurt and wobbled a few times. And could make no impact on Zhang what so ever.

What's alarming to me is Joyce has no plan b, once it was apparent Zhang was too good for him. Joyce continued walking on to shots and had no answers. And if the referee hadn't of stopped it Joyce would've gone down in my opinion.

On a side note Lewis would've put him on his backside within 6 rounds aswell.

He didn`t even throw 50 power shots.

 

AJ couldn`t live with Joyce`s work rate he doesn`t have Zhang`s chin, I don`t give a damn about the amateurs.

 

Joyce didn't really show any workrate when Zhang was pelting him, Joshua would get his respect and outbox him. I'm talking about Joshua before the Ruiz fight. Dubois was on the canvas 3 times against a nobody recently, he went 10 rounds with Joyce.

 

Because neither Joyce nor Dubois have any head movement.

 

Joyce threw more shots v Zhang than AJ did v Franklyn.

 

Wilder knocks Joyce out in 5 rounds, same for Zhang. Fury's the only man who could absorb Wilder's power get back up and win the fight.

 

That's why I said "Joshua pre Ruiz" read what I say before commenting.

 

I'd quote Sugar Hill screaming at Tyson Fury to jab, jab, jab, because with jab in his face Wilder cannot reliably land the right cross.

Zhang's southpaw stance and educated shot selection played a huge role in that fight. Wilder would not have the comfort of Joyce not being able to constanly stick a jab in his face.

 

Definitely felt like it. Compubox has him landing 78 power punches - 70 to the head.

 

AJ can`t match Joyce`s pace, he`ll gas and doesn`t like to trade.
