He should follow the Eubank Jr way. Crazy, cultish social media profile but the master of avoiding fights.

Herein and all I would have favoured him at 140 lb. Still would. There’s a thing in investing where you see an asset and it looks juicy and perfect. You find out some negatives about it as part of your buying process but because you’ve already put time, effort and told yourself this is the asset for you you don’t re-do you rationalize the negatives when you should be walking away. Think team Garcia saw an opportunity for a big win in Tank but didn’t re-evaluate things well enough when it became clear the fight was only going to happen below 140lb. They should have walked away.

Its boxing, highly thought of prospects get 20-25 easy beats to build a undefeated record before they test themselves.

If a prospect is built up well they will have faced a diverse array of skillsets and styles on their way to world level. These aren't always "easy fights", they're to learn and prepare you for the next level.

some boxers are couple years off retirement before they have a risky fight.

I don't think your hypothesis is strange at all. The use of social media does not necessarily lead to good decision making.

I wouldn’t put any of this on Oscar. Garcia had two hands to defend himself and had his all life in boxing. He was the one that pushed for the fight and owns all that happened.

From what we know Oscar never wanted this fight. Look at Munguia or Ortiz. They haven’t beaten anyone, but at least they undefeated and never took a fight completely outmatched. Oscar has protected them and ensured they remain viable. Garcia chose to take a fight where he gave up any and all advantages to Davis. It was Garcia’s call, not Oscars

I'm glad you're agreeing with me, it's kinda included in the definition of the word though.

I know it's so frustrating. Especially compared to UFC which delivers fight after fight.
