That liver shot gave Ryan cirrhosis.... He was legitimately hurt.

He also took a big shot to the nose right before the body shot, so he was hurt to the face and to the body. He knew what was happening and he had nothing left to give.

He could have gotten up but I don’t think he was in condition to keep fighting. Had his life depended on it he probably could have stood up and held, but he was more likely to get hit there again or KTFO from a head shot.

I have no qualms with Garcia’s effort. He fought a bit amateurishly in the beginning but he took chances and was trying to win. Tank is just a lot better. No shame in that.

Both, I think he could have continued but he was on his way to getting his pretty face rearranged so he called it a day.

Look at how he almost got up at 9 and once he was counted out, he got up and walked around the ring. I think the body shot was legit but Garcia didn’t want to take anymore punishment.

I think I'll pass. It sure looked like a hard body shot to me, and those contending that it didn't debilitate Garcia to the point of being unable to continue DKSAB.

That punch was full throttle this into the liver/rib cage. Straight away you could see from Ryan’s face it had an immediate effect. Even Tank saw it straight away.
The kid is over hyped no doubt, but anyone here saying it wasn’t much of a shot is either blind or just an armchair tough guy.

nah, ryan quit in round 2 when he decided to stop thinking and using skill, press go and go balls to the wall. thats the diff between the greats and good fighters. Mentally ryan wasnt on that level. couldnt focus for more then 1 complete round.

In my opinion if you dont think he quit at the start of round 2 then you dont really understand boxing period.
I dont care about the bodyshot. The fight was over at the start of round 2 when ryan quit.

For me it's not a question of being hurt. As a fan used to the old school of boxing, mexican warriors etc. What do you expect from a so called 'super fight'? You expect to see guts and glory. He doesn't have to keep fighting, so he didn't. **** me dead, it hurts when someone punches you, most fights wouldn't get out of the first round otherwise. People expect more and fair enough.

Im not gonna say that wasnt probably a debilitating body shot and taking a knee is acceptable. However how many fighters have gotten up from these shots and carried on, Garcia was not finished at all, didnt takr his KO like a man. He wasnt taking round of rounds of punishment but he did looked outclassed and outboxed, he couldnt land a jab. His footwork for a tall fighter is terrible and he was a sitting duck for Gervontas counters and quick handspeed and timing. Im sure Garcia quit more to being out of his depth than being in terrible pain, which means he is a Quitter, and if you quit once you will quit again!! Garcia hasnt got an Elite warrior mindset, and so hed never beat the top guys.

That delayed pain and system shutdown from his body told the whole story. He actually looked like he attempted to force his legs to spring him up and the lower body said—NOT TODAY!!!!

Watch his face on the count he wanted to get up , save face and keep fighting in my opinion but the body was done. Just because he was able to get up right after the 10 count does not say to me that he choose to stay down.

Tank got that young man respect early in the fight and Ryan knew he was in for some power shots.
