He’s just driving his price up. Matchroom don’t see him as a big enough draw unless it’s a big enough fight. Benn is the money fight for Eubank, smith and Brook. He will likely take whoever offers hi. The biggest fight and purse possible

Honestly don’t get how benn has become the “money” fight. He’s not as good as the others and never really been in any big fights, is it social media or something? What makes him the money fight? No one who isn’t a boxing fan really knows him either

Bakole is a decent fighter. But how the hell are sky gonna get people interested in him? Thats a very hard ask. Can't see UK fans ever giving a **** about him. Another weird signing

 

100% agree with this, I've never understood it. He's as relevant in UK boxing as Campbell Hatton yet somehow acquired PPV status off the back of fighting various nobodies and then some has-beens. Fair enough, his last performances have been entertaining knockouts, but that's hardly going to make him the "money" fight against established names. The Benn name means zilch. Is he popular on TikTok or something?

 

Up until 2019 he was probably on poxy money.

2020 was when he 'exploded' and so did his bank balance. His accounts show he had a 50k bounce back loan back in 2020. His bank balance in the July 2021 accounts show about 300k. Enough to get a Rolls Royce and other cars on finance and live a high life.

Eddie must be paying him roughly 300k per fight.

The Eubank fight would have been his first, million pound plus payday. That's why he became such a sour miserable tosser.

God knows how he is able to get this kind of money though. He must 'trend on the socials' for Matchroom to even think about giving him this sort of money.

 

That’s what I was thinking it must be, he must be popular on some social media platform that I have no knowledge of. He’s not charismatic, no casual fans I know seem to be arsed about his fights, doesn’t have a huge fan base who go along like say an up and coming Hatton or whatever, still don’t get how he’s a money fight and how this money is generated
