Bowe was not a power puncher; he wasn't renowned for his punching power like Razor Ruddock or Mike Tyson or David Tua or guys like that. Bowe was a big, strong man, so he had a certain amount of power based simply on his size, but he was not a big puncher per se. And Douglas was a decent puncher; Oliver McCall said Buster Douglas was the hardest puncher he had ever faced; and for a granite-chinned guy like McCall to say that, that must mean something.

And what 4 rounds did Foreman win against Holyfield? The judge that had that fight scored 115-112 (or thereabouts) obviously had some vision issues, because that fight was not even remotely close. Foreman only lasted till the final bell because he was so big and had such a strong chin; the fight was not competitive!

I gotta agree that Tokio Douglas has been somehow blown out of proportions by Tyson apologists ... however that version of Douglas is still a well rounded one: a skilled and motivated fighter, perfectly able to spell troubles for Foreman

In my mind Tokio Douglas vs Foreman would develop in a pretty similar way to Foreman-Moorer, and let's remember that Big George was clearly behind in the cards and it was just because Moorer's hubris that at the end Foreman was able to come out the winner.

Unless Douglas do something really stupid and pulls a "Moorer", he has the upper hand against Foreman. I love Big George, but under normal conditions he is clearly the underdog here.

Douglas looked excellent against the 5'10, stocky, short-armed Tyson.
But Foreman's a completely different type of opponent.
I some think people are giving Douglas a little too much credit, making him out to be a complete boxer on one night who could have beaten anyone.

'Tokyo Douglas' is a bit of a myth.

The fact that a motivated 6'4 fighter with a 84-inch reach, on his best day, can beat an arrogant over-confident 5'10 fighter with a 71-inch reach, and looked great doing it, is not surprising.

As long as Douglas was fit and focused he should do alright. Perhaps win a decision. But a knockout win for Foreman wouldn’t be out of the question. Douglas didn’t have the best chin and George was able to catch guys

I like Douglas here. Less talented fighters beat up on Old Foreman. But as others said Foreman has a puncher's chance and if he lands a bomb Buster will start looking for that canvas soft spot.

Really? I thought Douglas’s chin was excellent and it had to be even against this version of Tyson

I'm not saying it was Chuvalo grade (or he wouldn't have found himself on the canvas in the first place) but I have very little reason to doubt his durability. If it was even average, I highly doubt he wins the fight.

Could yes. I don't think it's the most likely outcome though.
