Agreed! Fury vs Usyk is THE title fght to be made, anything else is a distraction. I don't even think I'll watch this one for free.

He already did get into his head. Usyk was basically in full swing camp which is a wear on your body which has little life left anyway. Meanwhile Fury was jerking off pretending that they might go for a Wembley date which was never really on the cards because both would earn less than half of what they will earn for waiting out another 6 months.

Yes. Fury-Ruiz is an ugly mismatch between a big-bellied giant and an obese little fat man who should get in shape and fight at light heavyweight.

There are dozens of interesting heavyweight matchups that could be made, instead we get fights like Fury-Chisora III, Joshua-Franklin, and potentially Fury-Ruiz.

The first rule being all warfare is based on deception.

That being said there are no tricks that will make a real difference with Usyk and Fury knows this but he's just pulling his leg a little for the bants. No harm done.

 

The more I think about it, the more this could be a decent fight, at worst it's a least-bad keep busy fight.

In a strange way, both Ruiz and Fury have a tendency to show their best when they're expected to struggle - when they're heavily favoured, they don't seem to prepare well and look sloppy compared with what they can be at their best... Is there a possibility that Ruiz really goes for this and Fury underestimates it, and it winds up being surprisingly close? It's possible, perhaps not likely but then almost by definition it doesn't work that way if it's likely!

Whilst Ruiz doesn't have the punchers chance that Wilder had to keep Fury honest, he is a more proven fighter with a stronger resume...
Styles make fights, and equalising power counts for something, but Ruiz on his day deserves a bit more respect than he tends to get IMHO.

In all probability it'll go exactly as expected with a comfortable UD for Fury - but at least there's some interest there besides whether a fluke happens and a big enough punch lands, which makes it a better fight to make than a Wilder-IV would've been.

And naturally, let's hope Usyk is next.

 

You are so tiresome, mate. No, Fury did not “get into Usyk’s head”. Lying and being a deceitful, unreliable POS has nothing to do with outsmarting or intimidating others.

No matter what Fury ever did or will do from here, for everyone who is not a resident of his back side, his legacy is this: he ducked Usyk twice in 12 months. That will be the thing people will remember when they hear Fury’s name and you can’t do anything about it. You will no doubt carry on doing this half-cooked, pro bono PR activity for the ogre, but that won’t change a thing about how the world will remember Fury (if at all) and it’s a beautiful thing, mate. No matter how much time you waste on it, Fury’s legacy and perception have gone down in the toilet forever.
