Its quite obvious why this fight was put on the undercard as co main event, because canelo wanted again to have a taste up at smw he wants to try and take another belt from a brit, this time he wont be facing the lanky punchy rocky fielding. John The Gorilla Ryder would get inside canelo's water defence and cause complete havoc, he would get in his box and cause untold damage, he will destroy his digestive system, then paint his orange hair red with clean right hooks on the temple. I think he has a chance, just not a very good one. If he can blow Canelo's gaskets with workrate he might be able to beat him down in the second half. IF.
That's the flipside of "Ryder can win". His only advantage over Canelo is workrate and stamina. To win on those he's gonna end up looking like an extra from a zombie movie.
I like Ryder He is always in entertaining fights. But I give him little to no shot beating Canelo in Mexico. With the judges,cartels & carnecerías all in canelos pockets too boot? No Juan …no güey.
Guys with suspect gas tanks sometimes lose to the most unexpected opponents, especially if the opponent has a notable stamina edge. Remember Wlad running on E vs Brewster and Puritty? He should have beaten those guys in his sleep. Now, in all probability Canelo beats Ryder like an egg and makes an omelette out of him. But, I didn't like what I saw from him late in the GGG fight and if that's an indication that Canelo has been shirking cardio because of his bum knee ... Ryder is the kind of guy to take advantage.
