A common term in boxing for knockdowns that a fighter gets up quickly from and appears unhurt. Do you consider that to be definition? Do you consider it to be a purely balance knockdown? Or a fighter actually suffering neurological damage and losing his legs for a split second but getting them back instantly?

To me, a purely balance KD is not a flash KD. To me, a flash KD actually disconnects the fighter, but just for a split second only. A balance KD is different, even if it is caused by a punch.

Good question and I think it can be open to interpretation. To me, a flash KD happens when the fighter is caught completely off-guard and gets up before the referee starts the count, unhurt or very little. Maybe when Broner knocked down Porter, to me that would be a flash KD.

A knockdown which results with a fighter getting up after getting knocked down & is relatively un hurt after ,
With the knock down occurring after being hit typically as of result of being off balanced in their stance or not being hit flush on the chin or temple.

Trinidad getting dropped by Yori Boy Campas. The lights went out for a second but then back up comes Trinidad to start his beating of Campas

To me an off balance KD is definitely NOT a flash KD

When you get clipped, go down, your shorts tear slightly partially exposing your balls and you flash the crowd. That's my definition.
