Take your rose coloured Floyd & Canelo glasses off. GGG couldn't fight those that blatantly ducked him or robbed him of his titles, like Canelo did. He cannot change the decisions of a highly suspect Vegas judging team & the State Commission just chooses to ignore them too. You can smell the corruption I'm sad to say

LOL If the whole world agreed with you maybe but the vast majority of boxing people think GGG beat Canelo clearly TWICE. Its the Canelo side that is delusional

When Ward claimed he'd fight GGG he couldn't have made 168 let alone 164. GGG was a natural middleweight it was Canelo & co that liked fighting little guys like Khan. The only thing about anyone being afraid of Ward was he was one of the dirtiest fighters I have ever seen. That's why he'd only fight at home where he'd have hometown judges & referees

He was a fancy punching bag who gave us classics full of heart & cojones.
    Against c+ level fighters.
    Those are the facts.

mayweather beat dat A$$ something fierce & brutal … it was beautiful.
That’s what happens when A level meets c++ level.

GGG beat Canelo clearly TWICE !! Like the vast majority of boxing people say robbed him of his titles TWICE!! Canelo was never a bona fide world middleweight champion. I know it ,you know it, even Canelo knows it

OK Question for you ??? Floyd claims he's unbeaten 50-0 BUT How many of those fights did he actually
win ? How many were gift decisions, fights, or how many should he he should have been DQ'd in. or how many opponents were really legitimate & not MMA fighters making making their pro debut???? Hes no more undefeated than I am

We can confidently logically say that the judging of a fight cannot affect the fight itself, as causality is known to work only past to future, not future to past. Ie, there is no way for the judge's scorecards to change what happened in the fight. Therefore, an official result does not need to be acknowledged among people who have seen the fight for themselves.

If your definition of "He beat him" is that the judges awarded him the decision, then yes, clearly Canelo beat GGG in their second fight.
Bear in mind, the judges were giving THEIR impressions of what happened, and they ARE the judges, so what they think, determines the official outcome of the fight.

If you go by the impressions of other boxing observers as to what happened, then the judges are in a small minority.

Fan polling, according to Boxing news: 75 % thought Golovkin won...25 % thought Canelo won.

Ringside press, commentators and boxing reporters: 34 scored it for Golovkin...2 scored it for Canelo....15 scored it a draw.

    The two for Canelo were:

    Graham Houston (Boxing Monthly)
    Michelle Rosado (Raging Babe):

Those who scored for Golovkin included:

    Al Bernstein (Showtime Sports)
    Harold Lederman (HBO Sports)
    Dan Rafael (ESPN)
    Teddy Atlas
    Chris Mannix
    Lennox Lewis
    Terence Crawford

    ...and 27 others.

So the broad consensus among those who watched, from casual fan to expert, was that Golovkin won the second bout.

But as it is the judges who determine the "official" outcome, yes Canelo "beat" Golovkin.

    Lol
Dude relax - I made the perfect example to put Gatti in his natural pecking order.
Mayweather is many levels (infinite levels) above Gatti.
Leave your hate behind you - it is blinding you.
Gatti was good just not as grand as Mayweather & i know you HATE that.

I never said that GGG didn’t deserve the win(s) against Canelo. I am asking if you think those wins justify him being classed as an all time great? He is a great fighter who didn’t fight many great opponents. I fail to see how you can be an all time great without the latter?

IMO, he was an ATG Middleweight.

He dominated the division for most of the second decade of this century.l

It was not an era teeming with other great MWs where he could showcase his prowess.

But he did, IMO, and the opinion of a good majority of observers, defeat everyone that mattered at 160 over a very long period and mostly by KO / TKO.

Depending on your definition of p4p ATG, the lack of other ATGs on his resume and / or the lack of multiple weight class titles might negate him from consideration there.

    But yes, an ATG middleweight.
