“You don’t train Ryan Garcia, you collaborate with him” - Joe Goosen (interview months back). This exactly what Canelo mentioned, Ryan Garcia trains himself (at home with his brother). He only showed up to gym for sparring days. Rather than listening to his trainers, he likes doing his own routines like long distance running. This indeed a symptom of his celebrity status along with his family/circle being far too lenient on him…letting him do whatever he wants.
Because they both suck. I don't mean to be a downer, but it's the truth. 10-15 years ago we had Mayweather, Pacquiao, Hopkins, Ward, Froch, Kovalev.......reigning world champs more or less taking on formidable opponents just about each fight out. I honestly don't know why anyone rated Garcia. Never been a world champion, never fought a reigning champ, never fought an undefeated fighter. His fundamentals and strategy were crap stalking a shorter, faster counter puncher. He had no jab to speak of, and he was leading with hooks and keeping his hands down. This guy is only a contender because of his popularity and the sad state of boxing. Davis on the other hand does have good fundamentals, but he is sooo basic. I like his speed, I like his counter punches, but I just don't see anything past a B level talent. He has been a champ since 2017, but his best wins are against a washed up Gamboa, a blown up bantamweight in Leo Santa Cruz, and now the social media champion Garcia. I just don't see how he could fare against some of the recent champs at 135 like Mayweather or Pacquiao. Mayweather would have made Davis look like a basic plodding chump. Sorry I am just frustrated with this era of fighters, and an excuse of a big fight this was. This fight would have been on the undercard of Mayweather or Pacquiao fight many years ago.
This era is very weak man, back in the day during class I would write down the best top ten at junior welterweight. Kostya tszyu Zab Judah Vivian Harris Carlos maussa Oktay urkal Arturo Gatti Floyd Mayweather Paul spadafora Miguel cotto Ricky Hatton. The division was STACKED. Nowadays you have two huge talents that MAY not mix it up: Errol and Terrence, it's like a malaise if that's the right word, no ambition, no blood and guts, no pride to see who's the best. Then you have a behemoth hw in t fury who likes to sit on the shelf instead of giving fans the fights he needs. It's no wonder a contender like Frankie sanchez can be a possible titlist instead of just a safety pin. Heck, bring on tank vs Ryan may as well. And am happy about what's going on down there in the lw division. Loma vs haney for the best fighting the best (for once) I could gripe and complain about a few other things like how deontay gets hated on while risking his life for our entertainment and also with all the crappy matchmaking Rosado shoulda called it quits before he became a past his prime shadow of himself. I am hating, because he DID best Danny Jacobs, but that was the last time I had faith in him (he didn't get the decision) meaning he's been washed up for numerous fights now but like I said easy matchmaking. (Not easy though for me, I'm just crying sour grapes) heck Lennox and Oscar retired on the spot once they couldn't do it at the top. Because nothing less than taking on the best would be acceptable.
Nacho at this age will lose it with someone like Ryan, he needs to go & enjoy his life last i saw he didn't look to well.
Stop showing everyone how fast you are and learn the basics all over again. Stop throwing punches with your chin up in the air. Either commit to boxing or being a social media star.Pick one.
He needs to learn how to tuck his chin in. Basic stuff. He also pretended like he was trying to KO Gervonta but it was just a facade. He was kind of selling out. Needs to stay disciplined.
If you want be a boxer, a true fighter, then live and breath it, don't play with it, because when it bites back, it bites hard. No place for celebrity want to be boxers.
Idk dude, If team Nelo & Eddie Reynoso Couldn’t get through to him I can’t see old man Bernstein getting through to him either.
