    Source/Credit - Rick Glaser.

That's in the US - 960,000 PPV buys.

That's 85k more buys than Wilder vs Fury 2 which did 875k ppv buys.

Remember Ryan Garcia has a massive social media following which played a major part in the success.

Tank better fight someone decent next otherwise it's back to doing 61k ppv buys (which he did against Hector Garcia) - embarrassing when you think about it LOL Hahahaha.

That's still huge numbers for non heavyweights. Tank is at the point now, where all his fights are going to be PPV. He's going to need top notch dance partners to make that kind of statement again.

Probably, in part at least, because of the incompotence of DAZN.

I personally know someone who was charged 3x for the fight on DAZN, and it never streamed (he wound up getting it on Showtime, and was ultimately refunded by DAZN after they initially did nothing).

That's another thing, some poster made a thread the other day saying that DAZN was giving out free codes for Canelo-Ryder but weren't offering refunds. I said to myself no way, they have to refund or face a class a lawsuit. Looks like DAZN took it on the chin with the production of this fight, just like I said. At least they refunded, and offered free codes which may take away from the Canelo buyrate. Its a total mess.

    DAZN's incompetence was extaordinary.

Although Showtime ain't exactly down with the times, either. Impossible to watch on your TV if you just have YouTube TV or a PS5. That, too, seems inexcusable to me in this day and age. There are a lot of technologies out there, and you would think boxing would want to make buying these things as easy as possible to maximize their potential audience. But at least the Showtime broadcast actually, you know - showed the fight!

Exactly. Streaming on devices like PS4 OR PS5 is hit and miss. With the apps now days there's alot of glitches that need to be worked out sometimes. This fight was massive so I can understand the apps being overloaded, they need to do something to fix those issues. I would have been pissed my damn self had I ordered through DAZN. When it comes to fights of this magnitude, Showtime will always get my money. They're always going to be more reliable than an app that claimed PPV was dead. Lol

I think this is a DAZN/infrastructure issue rather than a streaming problem. I quite comfortably watched Murata v GGG through Amazon Prime on my PS4 in Japan. I can't find Japanese viewership numbers, but given that Murata was drawing 17 million Japanese viewers against Blandamura, and this was a unification against Golovkin, I imagine it did big numbers on streaming.
