Top of my head. Zorro v Burton next week. The one Chamberlain headlined, The previous one Adeleye headlined late last year and some junk from Telford, can’t be more specific but you know what I mean. Hey, I’m no oracle but I know what I’ve seen on BT and it’s been grim.
No I don’t know what you mean tbh. The York Hall card next week which now 3 very solid fights after Soczyinski v Duffus was confirmed earlier today is poor you say…right This content is protected The recent Telford cards were headlined by Davies v Baluta which was a great scrap and the last one was Heaney v Flatley and a fight of the year contender between Cain and Baluta…yep more rubbish cards. The previous York Hall Adeleye/Chamberlain double header was also very well received by everybody I saw commenting on the socials and had some great scraps on the u/c involving Chris Bourke and Henry Turner. In between those we have had an elite world champion in Beterbiev v Yarde with a solid card involving another Flyweight world title fight. Joyce - Zhang and a solid card enough card the other week. The next Telford card is Davies v Cunningham and possibly McCann v Baluta (but that is more likely to be on a bigger card now) and other solid fights to be booked. May 27 Lopez v Conlan is a cracking card and the best involving the 3 platforms. As for June 9th - this debate can be revisited in the next week or 2 when the opponents start getting confirmed.
Very good post. It’s just it’s all a bit nxtgen ( Lopez v Conlan is Top Rank really ). Frank used to do 4 world title fight cards back in the day and the Magnificent 7 . The fighters aren’t there any more, and the budgets no doubt, but a 1 world title fight card that wasn’t in association with Top Rank would be nice as would a Magnificent 2 or 3 card. Then I would say he’s starting to get ‘ back ‘. I’m not criticising his shows as such, though some are a bit sh1t ( like Matchroom and Boxxer sometimes ) it’s just he’s not ‘ back ‘ not yet anyway.
I guess you can say Lopez - Conlan is Top Rank technically, but it’s Warren U/C (which I was more referring too) and handling the promotion. As you say, the standard of fighters like back in the day are not there, so the days of the magnificent 7 etc are long gone. We also have too many promoters/platforms, so quality is down across the board.
Well no opponent announced so quite possibly. Doesn't look like Frazer will be fighting Fabio so it gets Adelaye out of being reserve for that, despite what he says.
Just seen this. No disrespect but I don't think hes beat anybody to have earned that shot. If his opponent in June is better than what hes been facing he can go a long way to doing that, but Ive got my doubts. Don't usually like ours taking on boxers who lost their last one but Ill bet if Coffie, the one who got stopped early against Fabio was offered a fight with David he'd jump at it, That way wed see if David was worth a crack at the British title. Disagree about Sololowski. Hes a good journeyman but im sure Adelaye would do better a 2nd time and beat him genuinely/. But that would prove nothing.
Did someone not suggest Warren was deliberately holding some things back for the TNT Sports UK launch this summer? It seems far-fetched to be honest.
