Lol, so yes Canelo has know chewed through 8(i think), British Fighters at various weights. Is there a British fighter you can name, that you believe would beat Alvarez at any of the weights he's been successful in?
He was the name that popped into mind, typing this thread out. Yes I really, really think that Calzaghe could beat him over the distance.
Joe Calzaghe would school him. John Conteh at 175 beats him. I think Eubank, Benn, Watson, at their best would be very problematic for him. Randolph Turpin beat SRR it wouldn't surprise me if he could beat Canelo. Bob Fitzsimmons ? Knocked out Heavyweights. Herol Graham would have a problematic style for Canelo see the Lara fight.
Herol Graham at 160 would be so slippery that Canelo would be lucky to land anything meaningful in the opening rounds. He’d be frustrated to hell and back, especially if it was Herol at his best. Remember all the trouble he gave mighty Mike McCallum, ending up narrowly losing a very, very close decision. Graham definitely had the style and ability to beat Canelo but Herol being Herol, bless him, may well find a way to lose…especially if it’s a world title fight!
Calzaghe and Conteh both win so decisively they're actually awarded the decision. Froch would ship some fearful punishment, but if he can absorb it without becoming gun shy, he may outwork Canelo for a narrow decision on a fair scorecard, though I doubt he wins decisively enough to be awarded the official decision.
Yes, Bomber Graham could maybe stop the curse and get him beat. Eubank, now that's an interesting one. Benn, I always worry about him going in, with his chin. But what a bleeding fight that would be. Lol
Calzaghe has the size, style and skill to be really, really difficult for Canelo. Graham could also be tricky at 154 and 160. Eubank could be awkward, but he'd not like Canelo's body shots one bit
