Who do you reckon wins the purse bid ? I still think Boxxer will win, and I do think Clarke stops Wardley. Hopefully it happens.

Ben is being made to look absolutely stupid here.

Although why the hell is that big massive egghead, Big Fraze talking so out of turn against his promoter. If he's got an issue with Boxxer, deal with it, in house.

The way he's going, all it's done is given Eddie and Fabio a good chuckle.

The only garuntee here is the reaction of a certain few.

Scenario A: Matchroom win the purse bids = "proves they are the biggest promoter, no one else can compete"

Scenario B: Matchroom lose the purse bid = "winning promoter (insert name) have paid well over the odds, they will lose a fortune on this, shows how desperate they are"

    Ad infinitum.......

It's ridiculous how purse bids are so scrutinised. Take this Wardley v Clarke purse bid. Say Boxxer lost the purse bid but the end result is Clarke makes more money does Clarke sit there angry about not having to take a smaller purse? I doubt it.

Any promoter with actual sense bids what they think a fight is worth or an amount they are prepared to lose. If they lose some purse bids because of that it's simply business and why it then causes some people to look at some deeper meaning I have no idea.

I doubt any promoter who loses a purse bid to an amount they were not prepared to pay is afterwards wishing they went higher to then by there own calculation lose money.

Look at the Kambosas vs Lopez fight. Top Rank bid the lowest, then matchroom and then Thrilla won it with a much much higher bid than Matchroom. It didn't take Thrilla long to actually realise what a huge mistake they made as they would lose a lot money and then pulled out. Would it have been better to stage the fight just cos some fans seem to put so much importance on who wins purse bids rather than is it financially making sense.

Winning purse bids and losing money would be much more alarming than any particular promoter losing a purse bid every now and then.

The nature of the business means a promoter can't win every purse bid they enter.

The value of purse bids is really where the detail is. When bids are close regardless who wins there is nothing much to say. If a promoter is losing purse bids by significant amounts then that should become the story as that would suggest there are funding issues.

the Alan Babic bid was another one, people were really criticising Hearn for not spending 400k on that nonsense. he went over, got KO’d in a round, and now he can be back on Matchroom undercards like nothing happened.

Wow that's embarrassing. Seems like 258 petitioned the board to make Clarke mandatory for the British Title but Ben Shalom disagreed and had other ideas. Clarke must be pissed. He only has 3 fights on his deal after June 10 so I wouldn't be surprised if he leaves Boxxer by 2024.

Who will be mandated next ? It has to be Dacres or Adeleye. I think it'll be Adeleye but I personally would think Dacres is more deserving to be ordered as he convincingly beat Sokolowski unlike Adeleye and has just won the English Title.

Maybe Matchroom will make Dave Allen or Kash Ali against Wardley next instead as a defence ?

This is what turns me off boxing at the minute, politics is why the big fights aren't made, too many people/tv companies/promoters all involved
The ufc have got it right,in at least the best generally fight the best,I understand there are exceptions

Boxxer look like fools here. Clarke has been making it clear the last few days that he wants the fight and it wouldn’t be his fault if it doesn’t happen.

Clarke will surely sign for Matchroom or Queensberry the second his contract runs out. Right now Boxxer and Sky are having a shocking run.

I think Sky need Adam Smith back ASAP.
His experience would have been a massive help to Shalom behind the scenes
