Ruiz probably did ask for too much, but after the Usyk ordeal Fury will be considered an unreasonable diva in every negotiation now, which is his own fault. Make no mistake, Ruiz brings nothing to the table except a brand based on one fight with AJ, and he was likely asking for a lot more than what he got versus AJ. The Zhang fight was always unlikely because Joyce wants the rematch.
True and because of that some people on here accused Joshua of being too money driven and allowing fights not happen because of the money. But fact is he offered Wilder crazy money, money Wilder will never be offered again now both have lost. He also never offered a mandatory less than they normally do and petitioned the government body to reduce his mandatories purse split like Fury did with Whyte. Joshua also never signed a deal with another network for more money and in doing so delay a rematch like Fury did when he signed with ESPN. In the end Joshua made most of the fights that mattered, when they mattered, Wlad, Parker, Povetkin, Usyk etc, yes sometimes the negotiations were drawn out like with Parker but the fights got made. As for the Ruiz fight. Yes he offered money to other fighters but lets not pretend he didn't offer them good money. Ortiz was offered what $7-8 million? That's probably more money that Ortiz has made his entire career and when it became public he had to concoct some BS story about his management not telling him and turning it down. Whyte too turned down £4 mill which was about $5 mill back then and that's with Whyte not being a mandatory but a voluntary challenger, so that was a good offer, similar to what he fought Fury for. The fact he even made the offer to Whyte showed he was desperate for an opponent as he really wanted a US based fighter for his US debut, hence Miller, Ruiz, Ortiz, Hunter etc all being choices before Whyte. While Joshua is money driven he's tended to be more flexible than Fury in negotiations it seems. It didn't take long for Joshua/Usyk to be made, unlike Fury/Usyk. Now that doesn't mean Fury is ducking he's just maximising his income which is understandable, but it's clear Fury is now driven purely by money probably more so that Joshua ever was.
To be fair they offered Ortiz £6mil or something daft. I agree they did try and shaft Wilder with one of those flat fees when it needed a 50/50. I think pre Ruiz Wilders team were not mad on the fight. Post Ruiz Hearn would do anything to avoid that fight for AJ
Announcing he’s finally signed to buy a new Passat or that he’s taking the bins out next Thursday I think.
The funny thing is that he dodges Usyk like not tomorrow, but I'm sure that he would win. My prediction would be a clear victory by Fury. Nevertheles, look at him running and dodging. That's pitiful. It's very hard to be a fan of him after what he has done.
I agree I also predicted Fury winning quite comfortably but he's obviously scared of that Ukrainian spirit, ducking the Klitschko rematch and now Usyk.
This content is protected And here's a clip of Fury whenever he sees a top 10 ranked heavyweight fighter
But this doesn't make sense though. You are basically saying you have more confidence in Fury than he has in himself. Fury knows he would lose to Usyk. That's why he doesn't want to face him. Usyk is all wrong for him stylistically, and he knows it. If that wasn't the case, he would have fought him a long time ago. Usyk beats Fury 9 times out of 10 and Fury knows this better than anyone. All he has is a puncher's chance which is always a possibility in HW boxing but that's next to nothing against a guy like Usyk who has superior technique, skills, accuracy, balance, coordination, movement, speed, and stamina and is just the better fighter and much bigger talent overall.
Fury back on the DEMON BOOZE? Not a good look. Prayers go out. if this Guy doesn’t fight BRUTHA USKY for all that Saudi blood money in the winter, his legacy will be the guy who ducked the feather fisted cruiser for undisputed. There’s no getting away from it.
