it is hard to argue with the old guys who sailed through the decades of Boxing with many of these Fighters, and most have very similar lists, I would agree with what these Researchers here, say. Tracy Callis is a well note Historian, with the turn of the Century and the Early years his main interest, so respect, likewise there are a few Poster here with a keen interest to the same periods, so perhaps they are best suited to comment on Callis' list...

but for the most part I would agree with these one's I have saved, but Lists are IMPOSSIBLE, so there IS Always a few Dozen more you can have in the mix, as I always say " Among the Best!"

It's always fun perusing these lists. I don't go crazy making them as they are a fair chore to do decently.

Yeah but where's Williams in the ten? Sibrel doesn't even have him in the 18.

Yeah that was ridiculous but I'll excuse it because Liston was included in the top 3.

Manny’s list is probably what I’d come up with too.

Manny's is the best list there and would be completely accessible except for the inclusion of Tunney. The rest are abysmal.

Here is probably the most bestest list I’ve like ever seen. It comes from an unquestionable statesman of the sport and a genius of the fistic game.

    Evander Holyfield
    Wlad KliTschko
    Lennox LewiS
    Larry HolMes
    Rocky Marciano

Its a hard one, the lists are naturally dated. I think more modern heavyweights like Lewis and Holyfield deserve spots in the top 10.

For me the 10 best are Ali, Louis, Holmes, Lewis, Foreman, Marciano, Holyfield, Tunney, Johnson, and Frazier. Guys like Charles, Wlad, and Dempsey narrowly miss out.

Obviously it's impossible to agree with all these lists but Tracey Callis's ratings? Dreadful, completely, totally dreadful.
