Lol trying to make Ward interesting with some fancy pants story telling. Nah.

Probably one of the most forgettable under the radar champs of all times and yes he was BORING.

The top end of his resume is nuts

    -Kessler
    -Froch
    -Kovalev

Would have been really interesting to see him in there with Bivol, Gvozdyk and Beterbiev.

I’m actually interested in seeing this documentary. Ward still doesn’t get his dues even after he retired. Although I admit that Ward is someone that I was never truly fond of back when he was active but I have slowly grown to appreciate him more later on. His skills were undeniably great despite being a bore to watch at times.

Joke of a fighter. Active same sex ball busting actor that became a pro boxer.
I dont really get why he hast more popular, all the people keep saying boxing loses fans to mma, but he was really utilizing thai and wrestling tools in his boxing game

Now if Billy Goat Ward called himself "The Dirtiest Player in the Game" like Rick Flair did, instead of the blasphemous S.O.G. I could understand it. That would be far more appropriate . Who the heck wants to read that load of old codswallop

Imagine retiring when you had the chance to fight Canelo. Hopefully he can explain that and also why he kept saying he'd fight Joshua but wouldn't even fight Beterbiev.

When you have to grapple and butt and low blow and duck below the waist as much as Ward did, it's evidence he didn't have the boxing skills he or his fans claimed.
For instance, basically everyone Ward faced boxed without those tactics. Why is that?

One reason Ward resorted to these methods is that he had such poor power for a big-cutting 168lb fighter. He was clearly big at the weight but relatively feather-fisted.
Froch was quite a bit smaller but clearer hit much harder, for example.

Take that second Kovalev fight where Ward hit Kovalev with a haymaker on the chin and couldn't even drop him. Kovalev wasn't iron-chinned and yet it only stunned him. After that Ward just starting going for the low blows, as we know.
He couldn't even properly stop Paul Smith, who was a middleweight Groves stopped with one hook.

Ward struggled to hurt opponents and didn't have the pure boxing skills to beat them clean so he fought dirty.

Should have retired before losing to Adonis Johnson.
