    Oh wow, this is interesting.

They're running a poll on that live YouTube stream, and so far of about 900 respondents it has broken down thusly:

    Lomachenko 57%
    Haney 43%

...which is precisely the same current distribution on our own poll in this thread. 66-48-2 in favor of Loma (56.89, round off to 57%...and if you exclude the "draw" option, which isn't available on the YouTube poll, then it's 66/114 = 57% on the nose).

Even if he can somehow turn back the clock and summon his younger self, which I'm very sceptical of him being able to do given how awful he looked last time out, and I'm not even expecting that version we saw because that fight was a grueling 12 rounder which would've put even more miles on the clock, I fully expect him to get robbed or hugged to death and not without good reason either after witnessing him get stitched up in back to back fights over there in just his 2nd and 3rd fights. Salido fight was an abomination and the draw card for Loma vs GRJ an absolute disgrace too.

Then we have the criminal 119–109 scorecard in the Teofimo fight too after Loma clearly swept the vast majority of rounds in the second half of the fight.

Hell, one of the judges even gave Nakatani 2 rounds against him despite Loma clearly winning every round

    1. Both men have huge ears. Like, large to near-freakish proportions. I've never noticed that before.
    2. Devin walked into the barbershop and said "I want to be a coral reef, bro!" ??
    3. Battle of the divinities on their shirts...GOAT vs. God, Hov vs. Yehovah ...not really fair though, because one has the ruff-ryding DMX for backup and the other has as their right hand Gabriel, the simping genderqueer archangel.

I think Loma has an excellent chance of delivering one final virtuoso performance and earning a decision.

While I certainly rate Haney, I don't regard him as a special talent. I also believe his comparatively soft (or at the very least favorable) match-making to date may be a factor, particularly if the outcome is in doubt in the championship rounds.

I think everyone agrees that, as skilled a boxer as Haney is, there is still a huge gulf in that department between Lomachenko and himself.

The question at hand is really how much do Haney's size and Loma's age mitigate that gulf? A hard question to answer, which is what makes this an interesting match-up.

If you flattened out those attributes, make them both 24 years old and stack an inch on Vasyl with his arms stretched out another 5½", there ought to really be no question that it's Lomacheno winning 10x/10.

Perception isn't reality, at least not when it comes to Loma. I think his fellow Ukrainian, Oleksandr Usyk, is the superior technician with less wasted movement, better feints, ring IQ, etc. Not to mention, Usyk has a big advantage in the intestinal fortitude department. I was surprised to see how easily Lopez was able to nullify Loma's angles by simply turning. It took a long time for a technician of Loma's reputation to adjust to something rather simple like that. Could you imagine Joshua nullifying Usyk with such a simple tactic? No way that would ever happen.

I'm grading on a curve here. Loma has always been considered a level above all of his contemporaries in the skills department.

Preaching to the choir. I was the only boxing fan on earth saying Usyk was even more skilled than Loma, seven or eight years ago.

If I have an agenda, as you accused, you should have some idea what that agenda is. But you dont. How brilliant. I could care less what you think abut how I called this fight.. What victim mentality are you citing? You come along making wild accusations due to a poll on the internet that you're emotionally wrapped up in and then start your attack and you cant even explain this phantom agenda thing. I glanced at the poll and clicked a button, Did not notice all the people who picked Loma by stoppage who are going to be sorely disappointed come Saturday night. I would like to see the upset. But, Loma is not winning this fight. The only way Loma wins this fight is by KO. He will not get a decision in Vegas. There's that. Cry about it all you want.

I was doing the exactly the same as IB, but here's the catch, he and I are also not ruthlessly illogical craven Loma haters like you, and rate his skillset as next level as next level gets. So don't get it twisted, he doesn't agree with you about Loma.
