How about Holyfield? Old Foreman pushed him around like he was nothing. Holyfield has even said he was shocked by how strong Foreman was.

No idea what old Foreman would have been lean, but he was clearly carrying a good bit more lean mass than he did when young, and whatever strength training he was doing was clearly very effective in building useful strength for boxing.

That’s true- despite there appearance they must’ve been at the very least capable of expressing phenomenal force- good things, small packages and all that. Kenny “Daddy Long legs” Norton.

When was was close to prime size against Qawi and a similar weight to Bruno he didn’t look very err- freakish strong.

In fairness Holyfield was teeny tiny by comparison and a new HW- Foreman also was a very capable “grappler” in boxing terms. He really knew how to express his strength in the ring like very few guys did- I think he learnt a lot from Saddler.

I think there's definitely something to this. He was strong AND knew how to use it.

I liked your comment just so I could go back and unlike it later. Don't let the door hit you on your way out.

George fought a number of fights right around 225 really not much difference there. Matter of fact I'd go as far as to say foreman 2.0 could out lift a prime PED enhanced Bruno. If anything, George's arms were bigger in his second career.

That was the very lightest of his second career, I think. Why cherry pick instead of comparing them at their strongest? I mean we could take Bruno against Smith as well, but it seems more reasonable to compare them at their most physically imposing.

For Foreman, I'd choose his fights against Holyfield, Morrison and Briggs and for Bruno when he came back in the mid 90's and had gained some 10-20 lbs of lean mass.

Holyfield is also a good example. Actually mentioned it in my previous post, before reading this.

Yeah you seem to remain neutral and refuse to let yourself get pulled into the shananagans

No offence intended. I was just using an example of when he weighed in similar to Bruno, he was early on the comeback trail and by his admission came in light and preferred to be heavier after testing the waters- but I don't think he came in 10-20lbs of lean mass heavier in any of those fights- muscle isn't something you just slap on. He was 235lbs and not very lean at all for Qawi and 257lbs for Holy and the spare tire had grown significantly. He was bigger and stronger but I want you to look at 10-20lbs of lean steak and say he put that on, mind you he had already been weight training and training in general for years at this point. Bruno for Smith was still bigger and leaner then Foreman ever was...

I still think foreman 1.0 would have easily manhandled Bruno in the ring and kept him backing up... Remember, the only person that has ever backed up foreman is Sonny Liston. Bruno is nowhere near that caliper of fighter

But instead of doing some extrapolating from the Qawi fight, it's just much more reasonable to take the actual fights where he looked the strongest, if we are to compare the strongest version of him to the what's likely the strongest version fo Bruno.

No one, not even me one of Foremans biggest detractors is saying he losses to Bruno in the ring that's insane lol. But in a powerlifting contest it's all Bruno! Liston an extraordinarily strong grown man backed up a big strong teenager who had little fight experience, I am not that surprised.
