Wilder will go down in history as one of the ATG punchers. It's not just the caliber of opposition but the KOs themselves.

Was the one good one Helenius, because you picked him to KO Wilder?

Lots of guys on this site picked Wilder to lose over the last 10 years, and after he knocked them all out, those opponents all suddenly sucked or were mediocre. If he knocked out Fury, Fury would've sucked, too.

That's what happens when you don't let anyone stick around. If Wilder let six or seven of those guys go the distance, like Gassiev did, people would think his opponents were better.

Fury is still unproven too. lmao, 39 year old bum Helenius is sadly one of his top wins.

Beating quality opponents is generally seen as proof of power. If quality of opposition doesn't matter then as of now Arslanbek Makhmudov and Jared Anderson are bigger punchers than Wilder or for that matter Tyson, Lewis, Wladimir Klitschko etc. If Wilders qualify of opposition is somehow irrelevant the same would be true of those guys.

Wilder has kayoed exactly one top 10 heavyweight. It seems bonkers to suggest that his kayo percentage might not be related to his level of opposition.

Let's suppose Wilder fought Wladimir Klitschko, Povetkin, Usyk, Joshua, Hrgovic, Bakole, Zhang, Anderson, etc. You don't think there is a real possibility some of these guys beat him or last the distance?

I agree. And not stopping bad opponents is a sign that maybe you aren't all you're cracked up to be.

Deontay Wilder has stopped everyone he's faced - cans, contenders, former champs, title challengers - all except for Tyson Fury.

You're the one making excuses for why Gassiev couldn't stop all the cans, contenders, and title challengers he faced.

I don't have to. Wilder stopped all his (and usually gave up a bunch of weight doing so). All except Fury.

You know that's not true. So why even type it? Hell, he even stopped a top 10 heavyweight (WBA#2 Helenius) in his comeback fight last time out. That's why groups like Ring, the WBC, the WBA, the Transnational whatever... all have Wilder the top contender who doesn't have a trinket belt. (But I don't count those ratings ... or those ratings ... or those other ratings ... or one had him ranked and another didn't ... because blah, blah, blah, blah.)

When Gassiev or Bakole knock out their first top 10 heavyweight (according to ANY major sanctioning body), do let me know. Unless mopes like Ivaca Bacurin and Ferenc Zsalek were top 10 heavyweights and that's the reason why Gassiev and Bakole (respectively) couldn't stop them.

    Until then, troll elsewhere.

There's a lot of stuff to debate on the board.

Whether Deontay Wilder "punches hard" isn't one of them. Catch up.

In what universe Helenius is top 10 ROTFL, hes 20-30 which is not bad but nowhere near top 10, Helenius had great luck in matchup with Kownacki and won vacant wba gold, he was suppoused to be easy fight for Kownacki, Only decent Wilder win was Ortiz whos born in 70B.C
But without a doubt he can KO anybody and dude has great will power to go, I really belive he would rather die than quit, he is also delusional and skilles one trick poony who trip over own legs even if hes not rocked rotfl

In the universe where Helenius won two WBA eliminators against the then-unbeaten Adam Kownacki and got rated #2.

Like how Bakole got his ranking for beating Yoka. And Ruiz got his recent ranking by beating Ortiz.

Do some of you guys follow boxing?

Well yea I agree he was high in WBA ranking after that fight since he won wba gold trousers belt, but that doesn't mean he was a TOP 10 fighter you can be 2WBA and like 20WBC at the same time

You mean like how Martin Bakole is rated #2 by the WBA and not rated at all by the IBF, WBO or Ring? Or Hrgovic is rated #1 by the IBF but only 15 by the WBC? That's boxing. You don't get title shots based on Boxrec or Ring ratings. You never have.

Usyk isn't going to make a mandatory BOXREC defense next.

:) (I like that. "Scammy as fuark.")

You think Tony Galento was really EVER the #1 heavyweight challenger in the world -- better than any other challenger? Do you think Don Cockell was ever the second-best heavyweight challenger on the planet? Seriously? Do you think Earnie Shavers was really ever the best heavyweight alive other than Larry Holmes? (Earnie couldn't even last against Bernardo Mercado months later.) But people say Joe Louis stopped the #1 rated Tony Galento and Rocky Marciano stopped #2 Don Cockell. And Holmes stopped the #1 rated Shavers.

The ratings have always been arbitrary and based on opinions. There's no system to it. The ratings are the ratings.

Regarding Helenius, he wasn't just placed in the top 10 WBA ratings (like Usyk was ranked #1 by the WBO before he even fought Chazz Witherspoon at heavyweight). Helenius won two eliminators he wasn't supposed to win against a guy (Kownacki) every org ranked in the top four at the time Helenius knocked him off the first time.

And people (in this thread) were picking Helenius to stop Wilder. But, when Wilder iced him, now Helenius is a "bum" (a word used by on of the same guys who picked him to win).

Some critics demand you go the distance and win a razor close decision before they'll say an opponent was any good. If you stop everyone, then they must've all sucked.

They'll do the same to Usyk if Wilder starches him. Like clockwork. Same thing if Wilder stops Joshua. They would've done it to Fury, too, but he got up.

Seriously peple here were sayin Helenius will smoked him lol i'm new here.
honestly the truth is all 4 Wilder,Fury,Usyk,Joshua are greatest fighters of this era. But they all have flaws
Usyk and Furry both have "pillows" in hands compared to Wilder but on other side bronzebomber trips over his own legs xD
Joshua is more rounded but nothing special with questionable chin or rather heart
