It has been a fantastic promotion in the lead up to this event and its paying off with the atmosphere and crowd tonight.

 

Here we go everyone, a main event of some pitty patta bollocks

 

A super hot sold out crowd works so well for boxing. Always feels like a real event.

Is that flat cap glued to Nigel Travis’ head? I know he appears as an extra in Corrie from time to time but he’s at a boxing fight not going for a pint with Jack Duckworth.

Boxing much better in a good arena - this looks a decent size and producing a good atmosphere.

The arenas 4000-8000 are the best. Like Manchester Arena is 20000, the Utility Arena in Birmingham is 15000. They are hardly ever sold out and so even if there is 5000 the atmosphere is dreadful compared to a smaller arena like the Telford International Centre.

 

I'm not a fan of womans boxing, but this is one of the very few I've been interested in and intended on watching (Taylor vs Serrano and Shields vs Marshall being the other ones) but it's still nowhere near the same as the buzz for a proper big fight. It doesn't help when you know the chance of seeing a KO is very unlikely. Still looking forward to this one though, I don't mind admitting. This will be a real fight.
