He's ****ing old and he's been at it forever.

It was a thing of great beauty the way he took control through 11. I was disappointed he couldn't get to work in the 12th and win the round, and I was impressed with Haney because the 12th round would seem to be his weakness, but it's hardly a black mark against Lomachenko that he couldn't get it done in the twelfth against a bigger, faster, younger opponent.

At least Loma has the balls to put it all on the line and try to go for undisputed though!

Loma had nothing on the line and his management team failed hi m a draw was the best he could get unless he chinned haney

Very unfair comparison. Haney is a much more skilled boxer than Wilder

Did you watch Beterbiev Gvozdyk? After the 8th round Beterbiev came back into his corner and Marc Ramsey encouraged his 34 year old fighter to go for it. He said "Hes done. The only thing he has left is the right hand long range". Artur then proceeded to stop him.

    And Gvozdyk.

I'd have Beterbiev above Loma now though.

This said, if Loma had got his draw/win against Haney, maybe not.

People citing examples of fighters taking it out of the judge's hands against fighters their size or smaller not way way heavier and bigger with huge reach advantages on them or and some of whom possess freakish power or have huge weight advantages

Loma is a past prime old 35 tiny-framed T-Rex reach blown up 126 pounder, Haney is a huge-framed natural 147 pounder gigantic weight bully/octopus with a huge reach advantage on him

He's fighting opponents in a division he doesn't belong in who weigh 2 or 3 divisions more than him and the larger ones of who look like the living dead at weigh ins while he looks like the picture of health on the scales and pretty much exactly the same as he does in the ring

Tbf to him, Haney really didn't clinch that much this fight that I remember, first couple of rounds were actually clinch-free I think.

Fury is tough, yes, but he has never been the smaller man in the ring in his life. It's obviously much easier to bully people when you have the size advantage.
What would Fury do if he was fighting guys who naturally towered over him and could take his power even better than a lot already do?
    He'd do nothing much.
He'd try to box his way to victory. And when that didn't work, he'd lose, because mauling people who are bigger and stronger than you is pretty hard.

He did but the ref was quick to break them up. It wasn't as bad as usual but he did do it a lot and the size and weight difference is so much Loma had to work hard to try and wriggle free.

Would a younger Loma really go for it though? Hes 35. At 32 he gave away the first 6 rounds to Lopez. Even at his peak at 130 he always started slow. This a feature of his in ring style and mental makeup. He doesnt go for it and bring the hammer like say Hagler, Pacquiao or Beterbiev do. You cant always rely on your boxing. At some point you have to bring it. Sometimes you need a hammer.
