    It wasn't a British title bout but a European Heavyweight Title bout, Henry Cooper vs Karl Mildenberger on Sept 18 1968, the referee disqualified Mildenberger in round 8 that caused Cooper to be a bloody mess, the fight was awarded to Cooper.

    Michael Ayers had a couple of crackers (at least) against Colin Dunne - for the British Lightweight title - and for a ‘world’ title (IBO version) against Wayne Rigby.

    I don’t consider the IBO as a world title so it was basically a glorified domestic scrap that was better than the bogus title it was for.
