Examples of fighters who won a big match but left everyone thoroughly underwhelmed?

    Felix Trinidad vs ODLH
    Tyson Fury vs Wladimir Klitschko
Sugar Ray Leonard vs Roberto Duran 3

I don't know if I'm being unfair here, maybe my criteria is a bit off with these fights ? I just went with really dull fights.

Ali’s second performance against Spinks was good. Especially considering he was well past his prime and showing early stages of Parkinson’s.

I didn’t like Hattons win over Tszyu…..he constant charged him and smothered his own work. I know it was a huge occasion, but I found it too scrappy to enjoy.

I enjoyed watching it …only because Hatton was such a huge underdog…and anyone who was a member of this forum at the time remembers how Ricky Hatton was a laughing joke before that fight

That was a very exciting fight to watch mainly because Naz went all gung ho and fought fire with fire. If he'd have applied the skilful boxing that he was capable of,he'd have made it a lot easier on himself but it would n't have been so spectacular.

Fury vs. Wlad comes to mind, everyone was just so happy to see Wlad lose they didn't care. What a stinker. Typical Wlad around this period, the guy just sucked to watch. Talk about a deflating balloon. Fury did his part to win and I don't blame him for stalling Wlad out and boxing him. But neither guy looked good and it was kind of puzzling to me at the time.
Wlad vs. Haye This fight just sucked and was a huge disappointment given all the crap they were talking. Turns out Haye was just lying for media coverage and wanted to get paid and had no intention of throwing many Hayemakers. Maybe if he wore his orthopedic boxing boots he would have won. "Pizza face" lol.
RJJ vs. Tarver 1, Roy was getting found out this fight and couldn't get off properly. He used his IQ, gamesmanship and the judges to survive this one. Roy fought tough during Tarver's last burst, but at the end I couldn't help but feel Roy had only won the "boxing match" and lost the fight. He looked a bit tired and was getting hurt by Tarver's shots. This was a good last stand for Roy's legacy though. This is also a fight that "if it went 15" would have been an easy Tarver victory most likely.
Bute vs. Andrade I, Hard to look good winning a fight in which you were clearly knocked out. I think most people at the time assumed this was luck or something, but it actually was very indicative of Bute's systemic flaws and his true level.
Froch vs. Dirrell, I had it for Dirrell, I felt Dirrell showedweaknesses in Froch's game and even gave him one of the better shots of Froch's career, stunning him pretty badly for a moment. I had it to Dirrell and couldn't see it closer than 7-5 Dirrell. The fight itself is not a stinker, it's actually one of the more interesting style clashes out there and worth a watch in my eyes, but Froch definitely didn't impress me with this one.
Late career Tyson's wins, Botha especially: He had lost a ton of balance and is hard for me to watch in his early 2000s slugger phase. Flat footed, no defense, completely square but seemed locked to the canvas. The Botha fight comes to mind, he was beating Mike up and outworking him but just got melted with a right hand from Mike.

    Hi Buddy.
You might be right, I walked out of the cinemar about half way through, in the early hours 2/3 am, couldn't stand another minute of Ali hitting then grabbing Spinks, seemed to me that was his game plan, fair enough, but bored me senseless.
Maybe one day after all these years, might revisit.
    stay safe amigo.

I mean yeah it wasn’t the most pretty performance but it got the job done.

I definitely thought Kosta was gonna eventually catch and clip him...............and then just like that he didn't come out of his corner

Chris Byrd beating Oquendo was one of the ugliest wins ever, I don't necessarily fault him though. Oquendo made everyone look terrible
