Also, Haney is apparently a free agent. He didn't sign a two-fight extension with Arum. (Top Rank promoted his last two fights - Kambosos II and Loma).

Haney is a good fighter but he's really not doing himself any favors by acting so unlikeable even after the fight. He makes it hard for people to respect him with the way he's reacting.

To be honest I sympathize with Haney, the fight was close enough that he can legitimately feel he won and now his opponent and everyone is crying about a "robbery". Must be frustrating.

I also felt that appeal thing was a corny move but then again I don't like Klimas, dude's always salty.

 

He knows he lost which is why he's acting like a fool on Twitter.

 

What stood out for me was the $400,000 fine for a push. That's a hefty fine. Murders can get out of jail on bail for less.

What does the Nevada State Athletic Commission do, exactly, with a nearly a half-a-million-dollar fine? There have been years where they've fined several fighters what amounted to MILLIONS over the course of one year.

The Nevada Commission has eight employees (including the chairman).

That adds up to some pretty hefty "Christmas bonuses" at the end of the year.

 

Haney will have bad Karma for all the things he said and done about Loma.

Just like Lopez, but worse....

 

Are there specific circumstances in which these fines apply? I suppose this is not the first brawl.

Haney definitely gained a little reputation as a heel from this fight. He has left TR so no Stevenson fight, Tank might be willing to enhance his brand by KTFO-ing Haney and becoming undisputed.

 

There's no fee structure for pushing fines. The commission just sort of wings it as it goes along. There have been so many pushing and shoving and wrestling and punching brawls before fights ... didn't Canelo cut Caleb Plant's face after they shoved and hit each other at a faceoff? ... and I don't recall nearly half-million-dollar fines for that. And the purses for those fighters were a lot more.

If he was confident he deserved the win he would just be like “To those who don’t think I won, Go back and carefully watch every round, look at our body language in between rounds, count each meaningful punch… game over!”

Haney is so annoying. Fights like dog **** and acts even worse. He really isnt backing it up like his idol Floyd, i think he misread the blueprint
