Very good fighter, great fighter. Overrated in this forum. Were he black, he would have the same number of fans as Rusell Jr.

By old school standards, yes he's way over-rated. Compared to someone like Duran that got started around the same weights, what ATG's has he fought or beat by his mid 30's? Other greats have also moved up more divisions before running out of steam. He only has around 20 pro fights and has a lot of work to do still. It's his own fault he turned pro late too for a lower division fighter.

At this point he can go the whining & crying route or try to get all the other top fighters that want to fight in the ring and let fans judge the results & his greatness.

If you thought he was an ATG, then yes he's overrated. Not quite enough offense. He does too much dancing and admiring his own footwork.

Great fighter, just not the same level as Jones, Pacquiao, Mayweather, et al.

    He's starting to become underrated.

He's a special talent, genuinely gifted. That's rare.

Underrated my hole. One of the most talented fighters ever. If he stayed at 130 etc. He would have kept on winning. Too small for 135 but he chose to move up for more money and more titles.

You got to come to the US to prove yourself

If you don't you're a hype job or you'll never be considered legit

But when you go over there they will stack the deck with a home ref and three home judges for your world title fights against their boys which literally doesn't happen in any other country in the world

And on the extremely rare occasions one of their have gloves won't travel top boy road warriors has to travel outside the US to fight in their opponent's backyard they want to award them a freaking medal of honor for doing so and they kick up a stink about how unfair and outrageous it would be if the judges were't neutral. Hence why all the officials for Kambosos vs Haney for both fights were from neutral countries. Haney would never have traveled over there in they weren't but give that boy his medal he's amazing!!

But back to foreigners fighting in the US

And when you do go over there to try and prove yourself and do everything they require of you and say you have to do, as is so often the case, especially in these legacy defining fights, you'll get robbed by the three home judges and/or stitched up by the home ref (ala Barraso) and then you get labelled a sore loser for being robbed no matter how many times they've robbed you and had a huge part of your legacy stolen from you

Then to add insult to injury, then their historians and many of their fans will completely ignore the fact you were robbed, co-sign the robbery and corruption, ignore all context, and call you overrated and say but who who did they beat though?

You're damned if you do, dammed if you don't

And they wonder why people get pissed off?

Here's the thing, tho. Even if you think Loma got the short end in one or more of the fights, the reality is that he fought at best evenly against Salido, Lopez and Haney. An ATG would not struggle so much in three fights against opponents of that caliber, although admittedly Haney is very good (just not PfP elite).

He's a great fighter, no doubt. Some of the best footwork I've ever seen. But many fans overrated him from the jump and still are struggling to come to grips that he's a "merely" great fighter and not an ATG. It's okay.

I've never claimed he's an ATG. He's much better in terms of skills, talent and ability than an awful lot of them. He's one of the most talented and skilled fighters to ever don a pair of gloves and that I've ever seen but he turned pro too late and I could expand further on all this more but I wouldn't waste my time doing so with someone like you.

    No need to get upset.

I think a fighter who is so talented and skilled probably should not go life and death with Salido, Lopez & Haney. If he's so talented, why does he struggle relatively often? Do you think a young ODLH would have struggled with guys like that? I doubt it. At a certain point you have to perform.

Lomachenko's skills are not overrated, They can't be. I don't think I have ever seen anyone with his particular skill set. Certainly he could use a bit more one punch power but it's hard to find anyone who has everything. His abilities are amazing.

His all-time great status is overrated. He's had just 20 fights and he's lost three of them. It doesn't matter what we think his record should be. It only matters what his record actually is. He is an all-time great but he would be pretty far down that list,

His H2H status is rated pretty correctly. Prime Loma would be an extraordinarily difficult challenge for any featherweight. I would love to have seen him against Eusebio Pedroza because of the stylistic and body-type matchup. Loma against Morales, Barrera or Pacquiao would have made for fantastic viewing.

All in all, Vasyl Lomachenko has been a joy to watch.

I think you're having a problem understanding what I mean when I said I wouldn't waste my time doing this with someone like you. I could easily go through it all with you but it would be completely pointless. Because either you're deliberately trying be this ignorant and obtuse to try and wind me up or you actually are. It's one of the two and either way I'm not interested? Is that OK with you?

He's undeniably one of the best fighters of his generation. I just don't think he's the very best, I rank Usyk higher P4P. I think Usyk has a more complete skill set, it's just Loma is flashier with his style but his style is more limited than Usyk's.

So some in my opinion overrate him. But that's true of every fighter.
