Sounds like some next level projection and transference to me, a pisspoor attempt by a vomitous petty piece of **** at sleight of hand and only severely low IQ painfully gullible lemmings are dumb enough to fall for it, the rest are intellectually dishonest craven scumbags and bull**** artist who intentionally peddle in misleading narratives, in an attempt to confuse the unwary casual masses. He's clearly the privileged one who was allowed to have every advantage possible given to him, he was the clear as day A-side and house fighter, with American privilege, which means he got his own judges, own ref, own weigh in time, own commentary crew, own media to push his road to greatness narrative. With the added bonus of a height advantage, reach advantage and weight advantage. Yet even with every advantage at his disposal, in the eyes of almost everyone, including his peers, he still failed to get the job done. For an official winner, there's a reason why he's lashing out and behaving like a bitter hateful loser and an unpleasant noxious toxic human being. He's still in deep denial and this is his coping process for he and his legion of hideously biased despicable fanboys. How this gross unpleasant person could still have any fans after conducting himself in such a reprehensible manner is beyond me, but the fact that he does, is a testament to just how immoral and disgusting some boxing fan bases can truly be. I say this as a guy who had high hopes for and liked Haney when he first showed up. He's a disgusting disappointment on every level, professionally, in ring and personally, he's regressing.

I must say, I've read some dumb boxing takes in my day, but "Loma's privileged" may be right up there with the worst of them. Arguably, the most outstanding amateur ever was "privileged" to fight Salido and Gary Russell Jr among his first three fights because he didn't want to waste his time and ours fighting cab drivers he could dance around. Like, what are we even doing here?

"Haney had to fight on grungy Mexican cards!" Well maybe should have focused more on that amateur career and medaled at the Olympics; maybe then he would have gotten the Shakur Stevenson treatment.

He deserved it. He was clearly aiming to do some damage to Loma’s wonky shoulder. Only a very severe penalty will curb his beast-like impulses going forward.

Privilege in this context means opportunity, not easy fights.

How many fighters in history have gotten a title shot with a 1-1 record? Loma is indeed extremely privileged.

To be clear I had no problem with it because he obviously was the goods and also very entertaining. Doesn’t change the reality of it, tho.

However, Devin Haney fought on nothing cards in Tijuana, Mexico, for the first couple years of his career. He'd occasionally get a spot buried on a PPV undercard if he happened to be a sparring partner for one of the featured boxers ... and then it was back to being buried on crap undercards. He got into position to win a belt by winning regional boxing belts, fighting his way up the ladder. He's had a handful of different promoters, none of whom put him first. Not even this last one, Arum, who just signed him before the Kambosos rematch so he could secure LOMA another title shot.

Loma turned pro with a million-dollar contract. He's gotten the benefit of working with arguably the most powerful promoter in boxing his entire pro career. Loma's received years of extensive media coverage profiles/interviews/docs on ESPN and, before that, he got the star treatment with HBO. His powerful promoter somehow got him a title shot in his second pro bout (skipping the 20 or so pro fights in the weeds every other new pro has to slog through). AND, when Loma failed in his title attempt, got a another title shot in his THIRD pro fight.

Then Loma received a title shot in his first fight at super feather. And he received a title shot in his first fight at lightweight.

And on the rare occasion when a decision doesn't go Loma's way, everyone JUMPS into action to make the road back even smoother for him. He's never been told to go back to the end of the line. He started at the front.

Now Loma is appealing individually to ALL FOUR boxing organizations, demanding a rematch. Some boxers spend their entire careers fighting and never get a title shot. Loma has had title fights handed to him since fight 2. He's only had two pro fights that weren't for some "belt." He's been catered and treated like a star his entire pro career.

No wonder fighters who came up the hard way as pros, like Haney, feel Loma is privileged. Because he is.

Excellent fighter. But incredibly privileged all the same.

At some point, you can't always finish first, even when the deck has always been stacked in your favor.

And, maybe, when you've had every break, don't whine when someone else gets their own break at your expense.
