There is a lot going on in the professional boxing industry that the press doesn´t want to write about in the newspaper or online.

By the way, I stand by what I wrote.

You're welcome! It's a good one isn't it? 'Im glad someone followed the link.

When I listened to it I thought I should probably start a thread here, there were so many great stories from Ian's time in boxing. I also liked the insight into how he prepared to cover a fight.

I wonder if one of the reasons Ian doesn't want to return to boxing commentary is that these days the broadcaster's seem to be far more partial to the house fighter?

It sure is. He's certainly missed from boxing. I hope he does return. Your point about the partiality towards home fighters may well be a part of it. It must jade a good broadcaster.

Thanks mate, I listened to it last year. Loved him talking about Naz stories. It was brilliant, I’m a big fan of Darke.

DAZN's recent fight schedule for UK subscribers off the top of my head since April:
    April 1: Joshua Franklin
    April 6: Acosta Cordova
    April 8: Rodriguez Hernandez
    April 22: Cordina Rakhimov
    April 22: Davis Garcia
    April 29: Zepeda Arboleda
    May 6: Canelo Ryder
    May 20: Taylor Cameron
    May 26: Sylve Kipenga
    May 27: Lara Wood II
    May 27: Collazo Jerusalem
    June 3: Shields Cornejo
    June 10: Edwards Campos
    June 10: Munguia Dervyachenko
    June 17: Prograis Zorilla
    June 24: Kelly Corzo
    June 24: Berlanga Quigley
    July 1: Smith Maxwell
    July 8: Stanionis Ortiz
    July 15: Baumgardner Linardatou

Then you add all the Misfits shows like KSI Fournier on May 13 and Paul Diaz on August 5 it's been a really nice schedule for UK fans. I am pretty sure they have had a few shows in Uzbekistan, Japan and Germany too that are less well-known. This isn't even including top undercard bouts like Hitchins Love and Hogan Metcalf.

Misfits is a joke and amongst that lot Matchroom have put on 2 competitive male main events. Should be doing a lot better with the budget they have.

Future opponent for Cordina maybe ?
They did put on some massive events in Mexico and Dublin to be fair. All their shows are pretty
much world title fights too. Globally they are definitely the number 1 promotional company right now.

Anyway, this was about the DAZN schedule, which looks great from April-July, after many complaints from January-March.

Matchroom for quantity, Top Rank for quality.

In the US I’d say Top Rank are number 1, but globally Matchroom are easily number 1. I’m surprised Taylor Lopez is in the Madison Square Garden Theatre as Hearn was saying in his interview today.

Will be interesting to see Devin Haney’s next move. I think he should sign a short-term deal with PBC and fight Romero for the WBA 140 Title.

    Haney v Lomachenko
    Lopez v Conlan
    Taylor v Lopez
    Beterbiev v Smith

In a 12 week span. High quality, evenly matched main events. Matchroom may do more shows but most are mismatches or women.

when u talk about number 1 gloablly do u mean how many shows they do abroad, or how many countries or is it anything else. Top rank cover quite alot of countries this year, us,canada, northern Ireland, and japan. They are covered in alot of countries epsn knockout in latin america, france and uk and maybe more
