You could also just watch him actually fight on top of everything else and use that as part of your opinion. Some of the training videos also give strong hints.
At least mine are my own and not a result of being fed advertisement. You’re a bot like the rest of them.
Ali, after knocking out Foreman said "I told you he didn't hit hard, I told you he had no power." I bet the Foreman fans attacking you and greynotsoold would say Ali lied about that. They pick what they want to believe and what they don't want to believe. Why would Ali lie about Foreman's power? He'd just beaten GF easily, why wouldn't he build GF up? I do hope I haven't hurt your feelings. In a recent post you seemed concerned that people didn't like you.
Thanks. I was about to change and revise that unfinished line when it somehow got posted. Embarrassing. I don't know if it's an issue with this site, but I haven't had this problem with other sites I post at. I've had over two dozen attempted posts get lost like this, and it's becoming too exhausting for me to try contributing here. I may simply just lurk and read. I revise and review like crazy before I click Post Reply. I suspect these new ad popups I'm getting here may be the culprit. I'll try looking for ways to stop this.
Agreed on every front- you can watch it on film with your eyes Foreman had nothing for Ali. It’s gotten to comedic proportions what this fight and the events surrounding it have become.
And despite the mountains of evidence to the contrary you are going to lap that statement up Pat which just shows how silly you are when it comes to Ali let alone any amount of other old timers. Embarrassing.
Maybe McGrain can help. Years back a couple of us had dodgy old computers and sometimes lost huge posts as we were compiling them and man how annoying was that. My current PC can freeze a few times a week so the rare times i get into really long posts i save periodically to notepad
Everyone agrees you have to take some comments with a grain of salt. Pat's previous history would solidly suggest he'd believe that quote
Ali looked like he had plenty of energy after that fight, he didn't look like he even exerted himself. He'd probably have been more tired if he mowed his lawn. Some of the people on this forum have a unrealistic view of GF. Ali probably watched old, small Gregorio Peralta fatigue, and out box GF and knew he (Ali) was younger, bigger and could do that and much more. In those days, the public didn't have unlimited access to fights and all they had seen was GF beat up a past it, bored fighter who was more interested in being a singer, and catch Norton early. The public didn't know that GF looked very beatable vs. Peralta. If the Ali-Foreman fight happened today, the public would know a lot more about GF and his weaknesses.
You can see Foreman cut Ali off and corner him numerous times in the first round and this is despite Ali mixing up movement with searing right leads designed to take some sting out of Foreman's aggression. Short steps to the side, at times even skipping, sometimes on the diagonal cutting off Ali's escape routes. At one point Foreman skips sideways just ahead of Ali along the ropes then suddenly alters direction straight at Ali to pin him hard on the ropes. The lines Foreman was working were simply sublime.
