When I copy and paste reports, I provide quotes to signify that what I am posting is NOT my own work. You on the other hand copy and paste multiple peoples' posts (including our own @choklab ) without giving any sort of indication that it is indeed the work of somebody else and not yourself. That is disengenious to the core and completely shameful.

I can only comment on this one occasion and tbh I don't think he did anything wrong.

Would be more competitive than people think.

I like zombie threads :D … Rocky would not back down one iota and Liston would know he’d been in a fight but Rocky would either be horizontal or the referee would prevent him from dying trying within four rounds. It is not a contradiction to say that both are ATG and that I cannot think of a worse stylistic, physical and strength matchup for Marciano than Charles Liston. I don’t think AI could either.

I think of it as the worst stylistic match-up in the ATG heavyweight top 20ish.

I agree. Tyson and Foreman would be my following choices as the worst match-up for The Rock.

The secret of Marciano was that he was a short fighter that was hard to hit with long punches. Nobody ever got that. It’s how he beat so many better fighters that he had no right beating.

people are misled believing he represents short fighters that were hit with longer punches. Marciano wasn’t that guy. He was a guy you needed to hit with short punches.

To beat him you had to meet him with short punches, where he could hit you first or at least trade on even terms. The fighter to beat him had to take his leather. And be faster than Sonny Liston was.

Rocky was horrible to fight really. Crouching too low, All elbows and forearms. But it worked. Nobody outscored him. Hit with both hands. Never write him off believing he was another Joe Frazier.

Agreed, a miracle would be Rocky answering the bell for round 3 against Liston, Foreman or Tyson. Now I think Marciano was one of the toughest most well trained fighters to ever crawl through the ropes but, this won't be Archie Moore or Walcott dropping Rocky early. These are perhaps the most devastating trio of heavyweight championship power punchers in history and this short little man is going to wade into them ? When he hits the floor against them he'll never survive.

He was nowhere near as good as Frazier.
