sky didn't have much choice , its a shame Lee Eaton was connected with DK because he is a decent matchmaker and already was friendly with fighters. Steve goodwin would have been better as well, he just needs a bigger budget

On a completely sold out stadium show that reports say had approx 1 million views......I'm no fan of Okolie (who is) but it's just helped him put of 1 of 2023's biggest shows. Pretty sure Sky are going to be happy with that.

 

Both of the guys above are fantastic at bringing through "young or unknown talents ".
As regards DK , I am sure if you dig deeper all of boxing were connected with him .

Do you have a source on the 1 million? Would be very big if true, a figure BT and DAZN can only dream of. Helps to be able to simulcast it across multiple channels of course but viewers are viewers.

Shame it wasn't a more exciting main event. I imagine most viewers thoroughly enjoyed seeing Okolie defeated.

Personally I wonder whether the event was anywhere close to break even. Okolie must have been paid a fortune to take a voluntary on away soil so soon after the David Light fight. Not a problem for us viewers of course - but if they did turn a loss, have to question the long term strategy.

I think your right that most people would of wanted to see Okolie beaten, his style certainly hasn't gained many fans over the years plus its hard not to like CBS.

 

I am not picking on lee eaton but as mtk promoter he has direct links to DK, the others like hearn, Warren can brush it under the carpet.

 

Exactly, Lee Eaton far from innocent but hardly the problem with boxing.
Look at the all the promoters at the digital currency launch , look at Bob Arum saying he is a great guy. Sky and BT doing shows with him/them. Frank Warren was basically co promoting with him so yes they are all getting a free pass while lee Eaton gets hammered , not undeserving but you not what I'm trying to say here

I get it. I've no time for Eaton due to DK but you're right, and fighters he has worked with do speak highly of him.

 

If you have no Time for Eaton why do you.have time for anyone that was at the digital launch or did business with him??

Rotten numbers if true....

Imagine the Conlan numbers were slightly less... and You won't ever find the DAZN numbers, mainly because you just know they are going to be that low - its a boxing platform on a separate pay wall with the quality of content fluctuating as often as the British weather.
