Where does Joseph Parker fit in the HW picture?

On his best night he could hang with or beat any fighter in the world not named Fury, Usyk, or Wilder.

He should be about 10-15 in the world currently.

 

He remains in the top 10 and is still somewhat young but he is running out of time to show anything impressive enough to crack that top five again. I have seen zero evolution in his game or any bad intentions. He will never beat anyone he isn't supposed to that's the best way I can describe him, a pleasing fighter but seems destined to be remembered as a decent heavyweight with one top draw victory against Ruiz which was a close decision years and years ago. He needs to beat another top 10 opponent and stop messing around with useless gimmies.

 

Doubt it, couldn’t beat AJ or Whyte at his peak and went life and death in the first fight with a 60 year old Chisora….he simply doesn’t have the power to KO any top 10 heavy.

 

You're all being a bit harsh here. He's still top ten and he actually takes on risky fights. Who else in the top ten took on Joyce, Joshua, Ruiz and Whyte? He's got some work to do to becoming a serious contender again, but he's not quite at gatekeeper level yet. Bring on a Whyte/Joyce rematch.

Fair enough. You are selectively quoting me however, which is why I said you should read again. I said beat or hang with. Hng with, does not mean better than, and does not mean will beat. It means being competative.

We are certainly on the same page relative to his ranking, and would likely be on the same page if talking face to face instead of over text.

 

He won a title, that for me disqualifies him as a gate keeper, plus he beat gate keeper types like Takam and Chisora. He's just above gate keeper level, so he was a legit contender but not a top one as he could never really beat the top 5 guys.

 

I meant his standing now is a gatekeeper not a few years ago when he was a genuine contender.

 

guys like him should be fighting guys like Jalalov, Dychko, or Mahkmudov. Instead he will wait it out until Andersons team throws him a retirement package.

 

Once a good contender, now a good gatekeeper, never a good champion.
