Fights where the winner carried the loser?

    What are some fights where the fighter ahead on the scorecards "carried" the loser? The one behind on points I mean.

    To my memory: Pacquiao Margarito. Like lamps said, PAC turned Tony's face to hamburger meat. The fight was quite one sided, for pacman, yet he was hurt whenever touched by Tony, especially when he was against the ropes against the bigger man. As they entered the 12th, Tony's corner pushed him out there and didn't even remove the mouthpiece from round eleven.

    Pacman knew he was ahead on points but he knew as a humanitarian not to beat up Margarito anymore. Sure it happens. Instead of going for the ko he simply boxed intelligently and carefully.

    The worst part of this fight is when max asked pacman about Mayweather in post fight interview. It had not happened as of yet, but it didn't age too good back then.

    From what I have read over the years, Charles " carried " Louis, out of respect for the ex champ, seems like something Ezzard would.

    Pacman was a " humanitarian not to beat up Margarito anymore" lol. If I'm not mistaken Didn't Pacman blind and end Margarito's career?
    Anyway.. Not sure if this counts and I know were in classic but FMM did hold up Logan Paul.

    Ali vs. Ellis is the first fight that came to mind. That fan ran 6 rounds long just because Ali felt bad about trying to pull the trigger on him.

    He also was hitting Buster Mathis with love taps at the end of their fight not to hurt him. The only fighter he carried to punish was Terrell, not Floyd.

    That's kind of interesting one too. People talk a lot about how insensitive or cruel Ali could be towards some of his opponents either in word or deed, but he allowed Patterson to basically upstage him physically and outpoint him by a hair and let Patterson lose without absorbing a beating. I always thought this fight proved that the first one Ali was putting on an act and really treasured Floyd Patterson a lot.

    Right on about Floyd. I'll have to take your word for the Buster fight, it's been some time. But Buster was a pretty sympathetic guy, he wasn't really somebody you could make fun of. Big, lovable guy. Damn fast, mobile, high-stamina, effective puncher for such an overweight guy. Someone like Ali would have to respect his ability at that weight.

    I would agree with you about Terrell as well, but part of me wonders if Ali could have stopped Terrell without grounds of a cut or closed eye. Terrell was immensely tough and survived a huge beating in that fight, but was mostly pretty immovable.

    Ali weighed 227 for the Mathis fight which was at the time a high foe him. They were both big boys that night.

    Haha yeah. Ali was fairly heavy in the three or so fights after the FOTC.
