Yes. But it could happen the same thing that happened to Nonito who was a big puncher at 118 and bellow but from 122 on he wasn't as big a puncher But if that happens to Inoue he's still the most skilled boxer at 122 so he shouldn't have a problem cleaning out that weight class.
No he won't. I remember when people were saying Chocolatito would carry his power up to bantamweight minimum and it never happened.
We ain't gonna be able to answer that question properly until that power is tested on a British chin at 122 or above I'm afraid.
I believe it will, donaire fought at higher weights and his chin seemed fine at that weight and Inoue demolished him. Plus l believe Inoue is a natural super bantam now as we saw him fail weight last time so l don't think he'll be out sized.
It's carried over several divisions and he's still growing, so my prediction is EASILY. He's not a weight bullying, concussive puncher but a piercing, dead accurate sharpshooter with impeccable timing, and that historically does damage divisions apart. Course he'll have to deal with taller, longer, stronger opponents and take more effort and punishment to get into firing position, so it's not just about power. Say if he can be legitimately pushed back by a fighter that has 10 lbs on him, he might not get to full power stepping backwards, although should he pick up some close range skills, he may walk larger fighters into check hooks and such, hence the answer is more complicated than simply gaining weight and hitting a bag as measurement.
I think 122 is where opponent size difference will be much more pronounced. I saw a video of Fulton doing mitt work with Danny Garcia and he didn't look much smaller. I think Fulton walks around 140-145.
Yeah saw Fulton at the Garcia/Tank fight, he definitely walking up around that weight easy towering over dudes.
At present the answer is unknown, from what I've seen transferring power up at those weights is a somewhat iffy thing
Bad comp, albeit both started at the lowest weights Choc topped out at 115 & dropped considerable power, can make 112 probably. Inoue's much bigger, gets scarier with extra weight, decimated champs McDonnel, Rodriguez, Donaire + Payano inside 2 & outgrew 118. He'll be healthy and strong at 122, which was perhaps missing in his last struggling camp. That said yes, Fulton will have somewhat of a weight & reach advantage on him.
my answer will be a bit biased. i'm a fan of inoue. i enjoy watching him work. he does the basics exceptionally well. he is defensively responsible. he sets his opponents up to be able to land those amazing body shots. yes, i believe his power will be coming up with him to 122lbs.
I think he'll carry his power up for sure, although it could be similar to Roy Jones moving up from 168 to 175. Still capable of one punch KOs, but more of a speed & accumulation puncher than he was at 160 & 168. I'm making that comparison because I think the explosive and unpredictable punching by Inoue will make his power look more prodigious than it otherwise might be. Think Monster would have issues at 126. That's probably a bridge too far.
