I think all three beat him. Beterbiev just too strong and physical. He's basically a cruiser boiling down to LHW. Ward trying to maul this guy would backfire spectacularly. The other two are basically faster, more mobile and nimble versions of prime Kovalev. The declined version of Kovalev that in my view beat Ward in the first fight lost because he gassed out. These two don't have his power but they have other attributes that will give Ward fits. Ward has good timing but that's harder to pull off against a guy that's more fleet footed and faster than you. I think Beterbiev wins by KO, Bivol and Gvozdyk by decision.
Ward loses to Beterbiev in a brutal KO, loses to Gvozdyk in a unanimous decision, and loses or wins depending on location against Bivol. In a neutral location with a strict referee, Ward would lose but in Vegas and some home cooking, he probably wins against Bivol.
Gvozdyk not sure, probably not but the other two beat him. These guys ain't Kessler, Abraham or Froch. Three of Ward's best wins and no one talks about them in a historical context, in fact they have been forgotten by most.
He could've fought them all but he didn't want none of that smoke with any of them. Fact is he tucked tail and ran for the hills when the division was on fire because he knew damn well his judges and refs wouldn't be able to get away with robbing those guys like they did Kovalev. Well, to be fair, they very likely would've done so but he knew his reputation would've been in absolute tatters if they did.
People are severely underrating Gvozdyk here. Beterbiev ruined him, but he was an absolute beast in his prime. Look how well he combines offense and defence. This content is protected Dude was beating Beterbiev until the accumulative damage caught up with him.
Might be true, but in his era and I think SMW was always rather weak. This weight class had good fighters but no great boxing talents. I think Canelo would have beaten all of them.
Trying to smother and grapple his way to a biased points victory aint working against those 3. Ward takes an 'L' against all of them. Beaten to a bloody pulp, resembling a pile of goo against King Artur, Gvozdyk stops him late and Bivol schools him. **** Ward anyway, he sucks.
They literally chased Ward from the boxing game. Ward literally decided to call it a day. Gvozdyk and Beterbiev both KO Ward. Bivol-Ward is 50/50.
