Hi Azim, well, new work, new girl friend (this is a very complicated
part :yep ), that claims much time. And some people get on my nerves, too. I agree with your pick, it would be a great slug fest...

There is no way Baer is going to win this fight on points; he would have to knock out Vitali, which has not happened in Vitali's career.
Vitali lost very few rounds in his career. Max Baer is a puncher, but what is the real danger to Vitali? I think Vitali could do what Jim Braddock did, having a reach, height and weight advantage over Max Baer. Vitali also has an advantage in defense.
Vitali wins by UD, or late knockout.

I see Baer making Vitali uncomfortable for the first few rounds due to his wild haymakers and awkward style+occasional foul. Baer also had very good and heavy body shots that could irritate Vitali and drain his otherwise great stamina. These are all terrible ingredients that could frustrate the somewhat robotic and stiff Vitali who hated being taken out of his comfort zone.

However, once Vitali makes adjustments and figures out how to handle his very unorthodox opponent, by round 4 Vitali takes over and begins hammering away at Baer punishing him for his leaky defense and poor fundamentals. Baer has a heavily bruised left eye and is getting rocked by Vitali. Vitali floors Baer with a 4 punch combination in the 7th. Baer is finding it harder and harder to get close and land consistently with his bombs. By round 8 Baer is covering up and stalking, hoping to find success with a hail Mary homerun punch as he trails in the scorecards.

Round 9, Baer's body shots have paid off and Vitali's work rate and punch output have depleted tremendously, but Vitali's still ahead on the cards, still in control and maintaining his preferred distance at long range. Suddenly with 10 seconds left, Baer explodes with a ferocious looping right to the jaw making Vitali take a knee who is caught completely off guard. He stands up and survives the round.

Not wanting to take any chances, Vitali is all over Baer unleashing a high volume of shots. Baer is stuck in the corner unable to defend himself and the ref stops it before the halfway point of the 10th.

    Better opposition !?!!!
    You must be joking. :risas3::risas3::risas3:
Vitali would beat up all the bums Baer fought, all on the same night, in 1 round each.

It's very easy to call actually. Vitali wins by KO, and without even having to put much effort in it.
As for the chin part, snap back to reality, Vitali is twice as durable and ironed chinned.

Vitali turns Baer inside out. I don't bet but this would be one fight I'd be tempted to. I'm not even going to analyse it - it's beyond obvious to me that Vitali is not only a league ahead of Baer as a boxer but he has all the physical attributes on his side too. Baer needs a baseball bat.

Here's a guy that does the analysis

Klitschko wins this with ease. Baer is one of the most overated heavyweight champions while Vitali is one of the most underated. Vitali had a hell of an amateur career before going pro and pretty much was a dominant champ outside of shoulder injury loss to Byrd and losing on cuts to Lewis in a fight that he very well may have won.

I’m not a fan of Vitali but I think he takes this and rather comfortably.
I’m an even lesser fan of Baer I think he’s just about the most overrated fighter on this board.
Klitschko with his robotic cautious style is too disciplined for Baer and has enough power to earn Baer’s respect or eventually stop him.
Baer has the proverbial punchers chance but even then Vitali showed against Lewis that he could take big bombs.

Vitali would have difficulties early but get stronger down the stretch. Vitali by competitive decision. I do not think he has the punching power to stop Baer.
