    Think Michael Dokes quick.
Absolutely. He would be the greatest heavyweight since the 1950's Marciano.

Yep Only Ali and Louis would wish they had as many threads like Marciano has.

But let's see, whenever speaking or replying to a fantasy match between two fighters, others have to bring up David Tua, the Klitchko Bros, Oh and who can forget Lennox Lewis, even though the thread has nothing to do with him. I think sometimes we are a bit off track during fantasy matches or are we afraid that those mentioned fighters are going to be forgotten?

Nailed it. That's why I try to stay out of these threads, unless I see his fanboys excuse Valdez not getting the title shot because he lost to Moore..... despite being the number 1 contender for nearly two years prior, or those trying to tear down Liston and Foreman, in favor of Marciano.

This. Valdez has himself to blame for not getting a titleshot. Valdez became the logical contender near the end of 1954, and foolishly Valdez risked his status as logical contender when he fought Archie, who wasn’t even ranked at heavyweight due to the NBA rules.

Besides a quick payday Valdez had almost nothing to gain by fighting Archie, who was a very risky opponent considering Valdez lost to Archie before.

At that time being “logical contender” superseded being number one contender. There was number one, then beyond this was “logical” contender. Charles was logical ahead of Valdes. Later Nino made it to “logical” for only about 9 months. This was when he fought Moore, handing Archie that status in the process. Archie was the bigger threat to the title.

as great as Tyson's uppercuts were he never sent anyone into a coma with one, Marciano did and Vingo barely survived suffering partial paralysis and blindness

Marciano's team are blameless in not giving him a title shot?
So between Aug 1953 when Valdes defeated Charles by unanimous decision and became the number 1 contender and May 1955 when Moore beat Valdes . There was no moral obligation for Marciano to defend against Valdes?
Even though during that time Marciano defended against, Charles twice,Lastarza who had lost on of his previous 2 fights to a lhy journeymen, and Cockell ,whom Valdes subsequently wrecked in a 3 rounds?
    Interesting.
"In the rough battle, referee Jim Braddock took one round away from each battler because of low blows. There were no knockdowns but each was knocked back onto his heels several times during the exciting slugging match. Archie Moore was bleeding from the nose and mouth at the finish, and his left eye also was swollen. But he could see very well. Nino Valdes forced the fighting in nearly every round and tried to impale his bobbing-weaving opponent with long left jabs and whistling rights. In the 13th session, Nino's left eye was closed tightly shut and he fought on half-blinded and fatigued. Moore's superiority in the 14th and 15th rounds clinched the fight and gave Moore his 20th straight victory." - United Press
So this disallowed Valdes from a title shot? Losing a dec by 5 rounds to 3?
Lastarza losing to 179lbs journeyman Rocky Jones 3 fights before didn't disallow Rollie did it?
    1952-10-09 190 179 Rocky Jones 14 9 2 L U DEC Akron
    L-UD
    10/10
Charles losing 2 of his previous 4 fights ,[ 1of them to Valdes ,]didnt disallow him from getting a title shot did it?

Not only Mike, but no other puncher ever damaged his opponents the way Rocky did. And they were all around 15-25 kg heavier.

Several of his teeth along with the gumline flew outside of the ring. It is a well-known fact.

Valdes beat Charles in Aug 53, he didn't lose to Moore until May 55,
    That's 21 months not 9!
    DISHONESTY!!!!!!

"Valdes couldnt beat the top lhvy's" ? Charles lost to Harold Johnson177lbs,9 months before he got his shot against Marciano.
