10 inch? Are you sure about that? If it's based on wingspan then it needs to be halved (still a sizeable advantage but not crazy Dhalsim style like before).
Liston has been called the best h2h heavyweight on here before a few times and a top 5 heavyweight, which I dont think he comes close, 10-20 max. Povetkin just rated as number 3 fighter in weak era below the klitchkos, with solid skills and good power, no one ever said he was in the top 40 of heavyweights but h2h it's possible he could be, so nah povetkin is not nearly as overrated as Liston. Liston possibly beats Povetkin but it wouldn't be a butchering, hes not fighting a sub 200lb fighter here. No bullying here from Liston.
Liston is not in my top 5 but he is miles better than Povekin who has a lot of seriously deluded supporters on here
I said Liston is overrated. Povetkin is rated as I said he was. Not a hofer not an atg but a solid fighter who can hang in most top 10s in most eras, liston did dominate for a while, but he wasnt fighting SHW's, alot of his opponents werent much over 200lbs. Most povetkin supporters are modern day knowledgable fans povetkin was fighting at the top level since the amateurs and continued it into the pros, most arent cucked to think the back in my day was the best days bull****, hes not any bigger than his opponents 6'2 220-225lbs unlike Liston, who probably fought 3-4 guys bigger than him, and how good were they. Povetkin would have handled Patterson by the way. Killed him.
Not boring just realistic i have seen a lot of Povetkin and he does not impress me at all. Maybe you see something in him i missed but hey lets just disagree
Patterson would get eaten alive against these modern giants, that's realistic, I mean he would be fighting beterbiev nowadays, or roaming around the cruiserweight division. Patterson's style wasnt ideal against someone as strong and skillful as Povetkin. As talented as he was as a smaller heavy.
Patterson was a small man for his era even. Lots of balls being essentially a blown up Middleweight slugging it out with modern sized heavyweights. I'm of the mind that he doesn't too well h2h against the last 50 years or so of the HW division, but his greatness lies in the fact that he achieved what he did despite being so undersized with a style that only handicapped him further. h2h I think discussing how he fares against modern MW-LHW and maybe some CW is far more interesting discussion.
