Amanda Nunes retired last night. She has dominated UFC for 7 years and has had one hell of a run. Her resume is stacked with great fighters, many of which she beat in emphatic style. I wish her all of the best for the future. Boxers that dare to be great should look at what Nunes has done and take note. A lot of boxers end their careers with asterisks due to not taking certain fights. Nunes took on everyone that was relevant whilst the fight was hot.
And any champ who defends his title a few times in the next GOAT of that division. Until they are not.
Well, Mixed-Martial Arts has a very young history. It's only been an organized sport for a few decades. So, of course, there's going to be a lot of change and flux with such a small sample size. Also, just because somebody claims that somebody is the GOAT, often for marketing purposes, doesn't necessarily make it the case.
Ok, I don't follow mma closely but theres been Rousey, Cyborg and Nunes, females that I know of. Male mma goats, Gracie, Sakuraba, Rutten, Fedor, Silva, St.Pierre, Jones, McGregor and Khabib. Plus this is a boxing forum so **** off with your ****.
Nunes achievements are incredible against absolute top tier opposition. She fought absolutely everyone there was to fight. Name a boxer in recent history that has dominated a hot division and fought all of the best fighters.
