Cracking knowledge there @SeanB1. That’s shocking about the costs. I remember reading The life and crimes of Don King and the stories about DK Productions staff being told to take their bonuses out of Tysons purse etc.

thanks a lot Sonny mate. All my paternal family are littered throughout Ireland and I love hearing the latest news with what is happening in the murky world of MTK, DK and other nefarious acronyms...

yup this, a close friend of his. It might be me reading too much into this but if you'll do this to a close friend, you're nto going to worry about one of your boxers.

Just seen Taylor has organised a meet up in a bar in New York today to thank everyone who travelled to support him in person and has put some money behind the bar for them. Nice touch.

Based on what we saw last night, Avaneysan would walk through him and stop him.

May be better having a shot at Connor Benn's PED Title

Just got round to watching the fight.

Thought josh was looking good till about the 5th or 6th round then started unravelling. Tbf lopez looks class. A bigger, stronger punching, more confident version of prograis. Not sure weight was really the issue. Think lopez,s accuracy and punches depleted josh more than the weight making. Just very quick and accurate with his shots.

Not seen a lot of lopez and his dad....i know they both get a lot of stick....but i m not sure anyone could get the son to the level hes at without knowing a bit about boxing. Not many flaws to his game. Maybe it is just on natural ability alone but whoever trains him knows what their doing imo regardless of their antics on camera. These guys usually pick up a lot on the way up travelling round differrent gyms etc.

Joe mcnally seems to know a lot about boxing....looks like he is and will be a very good trainer. Feel like josh needed a true world class trainer with world class experience tho. No disrespect to mcnally. I think speed was and is always going to be taylors achilles heel regardless of trainer in fairness tho.

Joshs reply to shots is still world class at times tho....very very quick at replying with the body shot counter. I think he still does well at 140. Not too many will beat him there. Too late for 147 at 32 tho. Just came up against a very very good fighter in lopez. He can move...great range of punches. Good power. Confident. Quick. Solid on his feet. Not many weaknesses.

Joshs biggest strength his mindset can also work against him for me. He loses the head when things start to go against him at times. Only chance to beat lopez is getting him over here imo. Cant see that happening tho.

Tunde is comparable to Steward in the sense both developed their fighters from scratch.

Yeah pretty much how I saw it. Josh said on his interview with ID that he felt good for 4 or 5 rounds then his legs went and by the last 2 (which would have won him the fight now I've seen the scorecards) he had nothing left and was exhausted. On the judges, I saw 2 had it 5-5 after 10 meaning Taylor winning 1 of those rounds would have resulted in a draw which would have been harsh on Teo.

Re: trainer - McNally and Josh seem to have different ideas on the weight. McNally wants to see him stay at 140, Josh says he's fooked at the weight and wants to move up. If I was him I'd just go to 147 and make a new start after a crap 18 months for him at 140.

IMO he should move up, try and get 2 fights in the next 8-10 months and let Spence v Crawford x2 play out. Some of all of the belts will then become vacant - either through Crawford retiring or Spence moving up presumably.

Hard decision to be made tbf. Think the brits leave it almost too late to move up. Rely on the weight a bit too much imo.

Dont seem to be able to bring through guys like lopez. Who can get away with moving up Without needing to rely on a good weight advantage.

If anyone can....taylor is the one that might do well moving up in fairness tho. Being big at the weights helped him massively in his career but hes a good fighter regardless of that. The only problem is if bud and spence move up after their fight....its a big ask beating ennis or ortiz in the coming years with the little i,ve seen of them both. The next in the list is keith thurman. A man that should have been retired a few years back. Better fights at 140. Although if you cant function above say 80 percent....it will probably finish you off anyway. Tough decision to be made i think.

Just not 100 percent sure lopez wasnt just a very bad style for taylor as opposed to the weight but who knows.

Said this to my mate yesterday. Other nationalities seem to go through the weights quickly whilst a lot of our fighters are still fighting at weights they were at 10 years previous. Can't be good for energy levels.

Taylor mentioned he'd been at the same weight since he was 19, it's stupid. He won the Commonwealth Games in 2014 at a heavier weight than he fights at now.

I can understand it when a fighter doesn’t want to let go of belts he’s worked so hard for but those without should stop killing themselves to make a certain weight.
