Longevity and heavy hands aswell. Obviously he was very mentally strong, going into other dudes back yards and towelling them up.

Azumah Nelson, known affectionately as Uncle Azumah, was a great fighter.

One of the best featherweights I’ve ever laid my eyes on.

A little less effective and consistent above that weight. He seemed to always have an excuse for bad performances or losses but to his credit he was very good in rematches.
The Professor learnt from his mistakes, buckled down and studied then would often come back to school his opponent.

Yeah I remember hearing about Azumah as a young dren, first fight I ever saw of his live was against Leija on the chavez-whitaker undercard.

i was at that fight. having some beers with aaron pryor. the place was filled with legends.
nelson had an unshakeable will. he also had a talent for finding holes in your game you never even knew you had, cause nobody ever punched at those holes in those situations before.

    • . Azumah was a pretty complete boxer puncher who could do it all as his record proved. Even his opponents ended up loving him like the great Jeff Fenech. Will provide more details the week commencing 24 of July. Training camp of life is gruelling.
