This is a damn good fight for Canelo and one that he will win by knockout. I'd put Ryder vs Charlo as 50/50 but be leaning towards Ryder. Charlotte has flashy skill but doesn't have the heart toughness or chin to survive that fight looks like he wants to be a rap star. Always fancied Canelo in this one, people forget Charlo lost to Korobov.

Like I said Canelo KO win it'll boost his resume massively and make him a lot of money when in reality it's just another fight.

The inactivity from Charlo is going to hurt him I reckon. Charlo should at least have one tune up fight first before going straight for to Canelo.

Charlo's team are cashing him out

I believe they have lost faith in him and this is a return on any investment
    Also gives him a pension

Right, I didn't think an offical fight announcement had been made. I just meant where had the talks even been announced? I can't find anything on this at all.

Multiple boxing groups on Facebook (that include current and former pros, managers and other insiders), started up this past weekend. The chatter points to either NYC or Vegas - specifically the MGM or T-Mobile - on 9/16.

    Cool, thanks man!

Hopefully it comes through. Like I said, of all the recently rumored Canelo bouts this is prolly the one I'm most interested in. Would be yet another nice addition to what's already shaping up to be a great year of boxing :ggg

Charlo at 6'1" may stand eye to eye with or have some height over all of Canelo's past super middleweight title challengers but one* (Fielding, Smith* - Mundo is 6'3", Yıldırım, Saunders, Plant, Golovkin and Ryder) - and loom five inches over Canelo himself - but he debuted at welter and captured his first world championship at light middle, and is probably somewhere in the neighborhood of a natural 154/160lber.

They have one common opponent: Austin "No Doubt" Trout lost via UD to Canelo in 2013, and by the same to Charlo three years later.

If Charlo had been out 18 months then I'd give him a shot. But he'd be > 2 years out before the fight actually happens and that's too long a layoff. Canelo is declining but still too much for Charlo.

Benavidez is the one who poses a genuine threat to Canelo.

Kovalev, Bivol, GGG, Callum Smith, Juan Ryder, BJS 2.0, Jacobs, and Plant would either all beat Jermallo, start as favourites against him, or at worst be 50-50 fights IMO.

He'd stand zero chance against Bivol, GGG, and even that version of Kovalev. I'm not saying I don't think he's a good fighter. He is but the narrative that Clenelo is scared of him and has been ducking him, and this has been pushed relentlessly on social media by his fans, has always been utterly comical. They genuinely believe that Clenelo ducked Jermallo in order to face the lesser threat and easier option in Bivol. I'm being deadly serious.

I know I'm part of a small minority here but I actually quite like Jermallo. I find him unintentionally amusing and if Clenelo were to face him now, coming off two years of inactivity and it being his first fight at the new weight, I'd see that as a female dog move on his part. But they are and always were two completely different levels of fighter.

Agree. Impossible to get excited about a fight involving a fighter who is basically an unknown at this point. Needs a couple tune-ups in quick succession to get things cooking. But it'll never happen because money.

I think Alvarez will win a decision, but I am backing Charlo all the way. I love boxing brothers! Khaosai and Khaokor Galaxy, Orlin and Terry Norris, the Quarry brothers, the Mayweather brothers, Roberto and Mikey Garcia, the Klitschko brothers, and my favorite, the Spinks brothers. I'm getting pretty old and my memory is starting to fail me, so there must be more boxing brothers I'm forgetting... I hope Jermall Charlo can pull off an upset, but we'll see. May the best man win!

Has Jermall woken up from the Montiel nightmare yet?

Just saw on the main page it says Alvarez vs Badou Jack 90% done. This is a terrible fight for Alvarez imo.
