This is how i had it.

I caught up on the fight today here's how i had it

    1 Derevyanchenko
    2 Muniga
    3 Derevyanchenko
    4 Muniga
    5 Derevyanchenko
    6 Muniga
    7 Derevyanchenko
    8 Derevyanchenko
    9 Derevyanchenko
    10 Derevyanchenko
    11 Muniga
    12 Muniga 10-8 Knockdown

    114-113 Derevyanchenko

Muniga had the strong finish but overall i felt Derevyanchenko had too much of a lead, i much preferred Derevyanchenko's defense, jab, clean punching, and backing up the bigger man.

Yes in the end it became closer but i still think Derevyanchenko was very unlucky not to win this fight.

Only caught the full highlights, hell of a fight.

Looks like Sergey missed his chance in the mid rounds to take Munguia out when he had him hurt.....both showed great chins, neither have been knocked out for a reason.

A judge is sitting ringside and at times has a bad view of what is happening. Another thing is that a lot of rounds are super close.
There is absolutely nothing wrong with scoring a round as even. We see it all the time in RBR´s where guys give a round with an *, hinting it could go either way. Those are the type of rounds that could be scored 10-10.
If a judge can´t tell who won, he should not give points to anyone.

It wasn't a robbery. Sergei was at his best when he pressed forward, the other time Munguia was jabbing him and countering also landing other shots while Sergei was trying to get in. Sergei then had his best moments later on using boxing & footwork to get in and out (landing nice shots & using defense to avoid big shots). Then his legs kind of gave out and he was getting clipped with counters. After losing the 12th big, there was no was he was getting the decision over a high profile golden boy fighter.

I had him winning by a point but he's now at the point of his career where he could still make good money as a solid gatekeeper/test for other high profile fighters but they won't give him any close fights. It sucks but it's the story of his career. He has to decide if he's good with that and if the punishment to reward ratio is worth it. It was one of the best fights of the year and he's always in great fights and in demand. A fan favorite.

And he is a great fighter. It happend to Kavalev, GGG, Lomenchenko, and Derevyanchenko. See a pattern? I bet you do.

Exactly, otherwise he could flip a coin when they're even. What I'm sure happens is when a round is even they give it to the house fighter.

Pitiful comments in this thread. Derev deserved the nod. No amount of rationalizing will erase that. After Inoue- Fulton, Stan-Ortiz, and Spence-Crawford, I might be down with this clown sport.

I still had Sergei winning by one round with that late knockdown. Man what a crazy war that fight was though, I was watching both fights on my dual monitors and this fight specifically stole the night for me.

There shouldn't be too many even rounds in boxing. Judges that give out a lot of those are suspect.

If a judge can't tell who won then they aren't displaying great competence.

Sadly boxing is a business. Colored fighters weren’t even allowed to fight for titles, don’t forget.

When was prime Derevyanchenko? Seriously. I wasn't aware of him until he beat up GGG.

I think because he is 37 now and has been through grueling fights that people think that he is no longer prime. His performance this weekend was a prime type of performance thats for sure.
