Of course he doesn't care and I never claimed otherwise. What point are you trying to make in relation to Canelo/Benavidez?

I care if the 50 mill offer is real? Compared to an unknown amount vs BJ? Anyone can toss a # around.

I disagree. Beating a 40yo and leaving the division immediately will be rightly perceived as a belt-grab and nothing more. He's not moving to cruiser, and if Jack had no belt this fight would not be under discussion.

Floyd was the champ at 130 before going to JLC at 135. Pac was a champ at 130 before Diaz 135. Canelo is NOT a LtHW champ. He LOST his last fight at 175. Not even the same thing

Exactly!!! How do people not see this? No way Canelo stick around at CW. And if he did, can bet your butt no fight would be at the 200 lb limit.

Some of you are being myopic about this.

A win over Jack would make Canelo a 5 division champ which I'm guessing is his goal. That would put him in a legendary club with Hearns, Leonard, DLH, Floyd and Pac.

I agree. Nobody else is looking for weak ass “champions” to get belts from. Saunders, Plant, Fielding, Smith, garbage.

You failed to answer the question.
He's fought the best champions available in and around his weight class, has unified and challenged himself above his best weight.

I'll ask it again, name one fighter that has challenged himself as much as Canelo has in the recent past?

What legacy do you get beating a 40yo CW who has no significant wins the last 5 years? Oh, he beat the weakest guy at CW w/ a title. HUGE legacy fight. C'mon....

C'mon Lance you can't be this simple. A belt holder doesn't have to be legendary or even in his prime to be a legit belt holder.

I'll explain it for the last time, a victory over Jack would make Canelo a 5 div champ and further cements his legacy in the boxing pantheon.

You're just arguing for the sake of arguing.

Belts don't make the fighter. If they do then I guess we all have to rethink our opinions on Adrian Broner.

I applaud Canelo for testing himself throughout his career. But in this case fighting Benavidez is a much greater challenge than old man Badou Jack who did his best work at 168 anyway.

It's even worse than Roy Jones cherrypicking Ruiz. At least Roy was fighting a younger guy and gave up 35+ pounds.

Agree with just about everything you just posted but the main point keeps going over your head.

If Canelo fights and beats Benavidez then "The Mexican Monster" becomes overrated overnight. If Canelo fights and beats Jack he accomplishes(5 div champ) what only 5 other boxers in history have done. It's as simple as that.
