Spence vs Crawford Is Finally On, Predictions?

Before his car accident, I had very little doubt that Spence would defeat Crawford .

Since that bit of Spence foolishness, he might have lost just enough to make it competitive.

I still favour Spence here, but not as confidently as before his car crash.

 

Someone pulls out claiming training injury.

 

Exactly my thoughts. Always thought Spence but the car crash, boozing & inactivity narrows it down a bit.

Also the retina injury just before the scheduled Pacquiao fight is a worry. I wonder if he spars as much as he did before then? May lighten his sparring to safeguard the eye. Hasn’t been an issue so far but this is a different level of fight to Garcia and Ugas.

 

This will be the legacy fight he missed out on when he had the eye issue before his Pac bout that never happened.

In fact, a win over this version of Crawford would be bigger to all but casual fans than a win over ancient Pac.

If he has thoughts of chasing anything at 154 or 160, this will be his exit from welter.

I like Bud more than I like Errol, but I think Errol is the better fighter.

We'll find out soon.

A curious but irrelevant result if that unlikely event were to happen would be EVERYONE involved would make lots more money?

I will still pick Crawford, but it's truly amazing how often in boxing the outcome is the one where everyone makes more money.

 

Sadly true. Hopefully though Crawford turns the screw and stops him, then setting up routine wins against the angry twins before possibly boxing Canelo (that now looks unlikely as he’s boxing Jack at 200lbs).

 

Hopefully more worth the wait than Mayweather-Pacquiao!

 

I said Spence for years but now I think it’s a lot closer. The 2 car crashes Spence had must have taken something out of him. It sounded a bit like he was slurring his words at the press conference.

Maybe the detached retina just before the scheduled Pacquiao fight affects the level and frequency of his sparring too? Can’t see them wanting to take too many risks with it.

I’ll still go Spence, just.
