Yeah I remember when Chelli's father asked Billy Joe Saunders if he could spar Chelli at a press conference, and also his antics when Chelli fought Umar Sadiq. Chelli is really good and I backed him for the upset against Sims Jr in Kirk's League and thought he'd beat Heffron too. The Sheffield card isn't amazing but at least there's 5 domestic bouts on the main card (assuming Bostan Amos is on the main broadcast). Boxxer have made some good fights to be fair like Eubank Williams, Brook Khan, Taylor Catterall, Smith Eubank, Marshall Shields, Mayer Baumgardner, and Okolie Billam-Smith. I think they'll make Buatsi Azeez next too. The problem is that a-lot of their undercards are poor, which is understandable to a point due to them building a new stable. Also the matchmaking for some of their prospects hasn't been great in my opinion. Also they are under pressure from Sky to make PPV shows, which is why Taylor Catterall II was going to be PPV, and Taylor Lopez would have been PPV if it were in Scotland.
You conveniently didn't mention it was on sky showcase for free Okolie does not rate well when he fights, who wants to watch that bore Shalom has centred his face of sky boxing on someone about as entertaining to watch as Howard Eastman/Kid Galahad/Isaac Chamberlain. He really doesn't know what the **** he is doing.
Their stable is atrocious showing Shalom does not have an eye for talent, their cards are progressively getting worse, Hes wasted so much money. Anyone know when his sky deal runs out? I'd be amazed if it gets extended.
The big problem is that Boxxer is currently a ship without a captain. They desperately need Adam Smith to return.
Yes he has a boring style but he was an undefeated British World Champion and only 30, with clear potential to go up to heavyweight. They already had Riakporhe and Billam-Smith, so signing Okolie gave them almost a monopoly over the Cruiserweight division as they could match these fighters against each other. Not sure what's happening with Riakporhe against the French World Champion. I think the signing made sense. Same with Buatsi, they can match him up against Azeez and then go from there. You can only get what's available so I think people are being a bit harsh on Boxxer for signing Okolie and Buatsi to be honest. They might have overpaid for them though which is probably the main area for criticism.
There's been less recently as he's had less fighters. Multiple fighters have won court cases against him and a judge referred to him as thoroughly dishonest.
All of that's sweet FA when your the morning fighter to watch on planet Earth Also trying to tie up a division that historically makes little money by spending loads on it is kinda daft Okolie at HW will be even worse to watch Okolie signing makes no sense what's so ever Only get what's available? Mate if you need a size 8 pair of trainers but they only have 11s,do you still buy them? If it's useless to you wait until the right stock comes along
Pretty much what DramaShow has said directly below your post and above mine, however I also think it’s the heavyweight reason. Him losing to CBS is a huge upset let’s be honest. Sky were probably thinking Okolie was going to win an alphabet belt at heavyweight and as heavyweight’s sell, be very profitable for them.
Me too But tbh that's an answer we can all use when we criticise any promotion I mean Hearn gets it in the neck from you (and most of us) and I'm confident he'd do a better job than you That's because we are the viewing public However I got one up on him by not signing Okolie for silly money
