I wouldn't be surprised - there's so much of this in boxing, people act like it doesn't happen

It's going to be a great fight. The styles matchup is a good one and both of these guys believe they'll win. And this is coming from someone who thought all along that Mayweather/Pacquaio would be a stinker.

It sometimes happens in big fights but I don't see it with this match up of styles. Spence, pressures looking to create mistakes and break you down, Crawford invites the pressure and looks to land lethal counters, if anything it could be a real thriller.

Some big fights do tend to become a huge disappointment, where one fighter is playing it safe and not wanting to engage. I don't expect that with either of them. Crawford and Spence are both spiteful fighters, we should at least expect some high intensity.

I want Crawford to KO Spence for the sole reason that Spence wore one of the dumbest and ugliest shirts ever created. Like, it has one fake suspender on the right side, but then a graphical representation of another suspender on the left, but there's some weird beige and tidepool looking pattern?

So one guy jabbing, pressuring, waiting for you to make a mistake against a guy who invites pressure and looks to counter your mistakes.

In other words, feint, jab, feint, attempted counter, feint, missed combo, jab, feint, clinch.

And, after 12, with neither marked up, fans will come on the board here and talk about what a chess match it was and argue for two weeks about the scoring.

It doesn't happen "sometimes" in big fights. It happens more times than not.

If Spence-Crawford is remotely exciting, not "purists were excited" or "you're not a fan if you don't appreciate all those feints and misses" excited ... if it's an exciting "FIGHT" (brutal punching, knockdowns, an actual war) ... I'll be shocked.

I've been a fan forever. I've had it up to my eyeballs with no major fights and, when we get one, "chess matches." And then people saying "I'm not a fan" if I don't "appreciate" a boring-ass feinting contest.

So I hope I'm shocked. Because this matchup never sounded exciting at all.

"Belt Lovers" who love photos of boxers with six dozen straps over their arms and people who love arguing scorecards are the ones excited for this.

I'm not expecting much so it won't take a ton to actually impress me.

I want to see a clear cut, preferably knockout finish. No cards. Just people coming on here afterward talking about what a great fight and an exciting, conclusive finish it was.

If one of these two wants to be seen as the very best in the division, knock the other guy out.

Prove it in the ring. Don't jab and feint and pose and clinch and then complain when a judge doesn't agree you're the winner.

Score a ko and walk out the winner.

I hope they show up and put on a show but I've also been watching boxing for a very long time where the biggest fights don't live up to expectations.

I'm not saying that is the case here. I am saying I would not be surprise if it did.

    This.

Crawford is like a ferret. No way you get a "glorified sparring session" out of him, never. That killer instinct doesnt happen by chance, it's in his nature.

Spence is another figther with hot blood, he likes the mud and the bullets and the sharpnels, in a war he's at home.

No way we get a glorified sparring with two fighters with those tempers.

I honestly doubt that we will see round 12th. They both will want to "all in" if they see that they are losing the fight, resulting in somene being stopped.

@Dubblechin You've seen Spence fight - he doesn't "wait" for mistakes. As mentioned he creates those mistakes with his pressure. He's almost always in a good fight.

Plenty of great bouts go to the scorecards. But yes, if you're looking for two dudes standing flat-footed and eating power shots like Gatti/Ward you're likely to be disappointed.

Guys don't have to stand flat-footed and trade power shots like Gatti and Ward.

It would just be nice if there were more Leonard-Hearns and Pacquiao-Cotto welterweight showdowns, where the winner made his case emphatically.

Let's see a fight where no one says "scorecard" afterward in relation to who won or lost.

People on this board spend more time arguing about the scorecards of fights rather than the actual fights, because often the fights aren't all that good. The only things interesting or compelling are the bad scores at the end.

You don't have to worry about the scoring if the other guy is out on his back.

Someone knock someone else out. Prove he's number one. No judges required. That would be nice.

No way this fight is like that I expect a war.

I used to think Spence would win but Crawford is a bad man.

Crawford by KO, but will be rooting for Spence

I hear you, but both of these guys are offensive minded, and not just there for the paycheck. That conference had a lot of class, but whoever said quiet before the storm I think it is on it. It’s not 80s fab four but it’s got that vibe

There might be rounds like that, because they're both smart boxers and might be analyzing, but I do believe we will get fireworks before the night is through and that they will not leave any biscuits on the table. I don't know if that's a phrase or if I just came up with that and it's stupid, but I do know what I mean and that I am probably correct. Sixty percent of the time...I'm right every time.
