If he wasn't defending it, it is the right thing to do. Unlike some fighters who have held a belt hostage for years and not fight.

He’ll probably retire. No news from him in a long time.

If GGG does not want to fight anybody anymore then why doesn't he announce his retirement?

That's not how he wants to be remembered, alongside Chuck Wepner and Randall Cobb!

Good question, he must want to fight again at some point.

I think he should retire. Live the rest of his life healthy and happy with his family and friends. I'm glad I got to see him fight live when I was at Golovkin vs. Alvarez 2. He is my second favorite middleweight ever, after Marvelous Marvin Hagler. He would have been big trouble for any middleweight in history I think.

    Yup

Without belts he isn't marketable in the USA anymore. He's also had a few stinkers in America too.

In the UK he can fight the winner of the Smith-Eubank rematch. Sky Sports are a good promo company, it'll be on PPV and GGG can get his final big payday.

Gotta say, as a fan of GGG, the way his career has fizzled out due to the lack of his ambition is very disappointing.

I think he's done with boxing. Would be nice to see a good version of him in action again, but if his heart isnt into it then maybe retirement is the right idea. What I don't want to see happen is a shell of GGG fight on into his 40s and eventually lose to a garden variety bum because he is so shot.

Farewell fight in his home country and retire

I think that’s what he will want to do to end his amazing career

what good are belts?? All theyre for is to get sanctioning fees from a champion every time he fights. No one has challenged GGG. Now your idol waited until he was forced to defend against GGG because he knew he couldn't beat him Ginger Fairy
